this is looking like the 1st NLs where we are on track to make the knockout round!!!!

we failed to make knockout round every time due to always having a
Italy, Spain, Pengland, France, etc in our group.

just saw that they changed the tourney that top 2 of every group makes QF round. In previous only winners made it and it was straight to SF round.

Hungary have been pretty bad but I feel like this is going back to the sort of way we would demolish teams like this pre 2018.

Under Low or Flick we would likely have taken less chances, conceded a soft goal and scraped a 2-1 win or something.

It also didn't help that Nagelsmann's predecessors didn't take the NL seriously at all.

don't be so generous under Flick and Low we would have went neverending passing and scrapped to a 1-1 D or even a 2-1 L with 2/2 counter goals conceded.

we then proceed with them crying about shit the German talents are even when they use and play older players from their own free will. But 0 CFs+Garbage young players=scapegoat for years and years.

Hungary were decent for the first 60 minutes, and had some opportunities (one?) To nick a goal. After the Musiala goal, they kind of fell apart, sloppy passes, no real effort. The Hungary subs did seem to provide any value. Germany got more comfortable in the game and started to take the Hungary d apart. Also Hungary lucky that the score line wasn't worse.

I really loved the first goal, reminded me of the 2010/2014 squad.

    Scotland >>>>>>> Hungary (5-1 vs. 5-0);)

Wow. Now that was brilliant. Kudos to Nagelsmann, the team definetly is heading the right direction. These low block teams were our Achilles heel, we now look stable which is a Hugh positive.

    Musiala in 2024
-5 goals and 4 assists in 10 games
-3 goals in Euro itself tied for Golden Boot
    -broke a record today too

    -Nagelsmann on him
Nagelsmann on Musiala: "Jamal has already undergone a great transformation in the past year in terms of his presence in the box, he's become exceptionally good at that. Before the Euros, it was a small point of criticism about this exceptional player that he doesn't get into the box enough. During the tournament it was very good, today it was phenomenal."
    -Nagelsmann on him+Wirtz
Julian Nagelsmann: At the beginning we played quite sloppily and were not fully in the game. We had little control in our passing, but then we became more dominant and should have been leading quicker. Then we developed more enthusiasm for the game and won the ball a lot. The group needed a while overall, but especially when two players like Wirtz and Musiala find each other, it's fantastic.

-Niclas Füllkrug: "It's a joy to see what Flo and Jamal are doing. We're really lucky to have them in our team. It's a gift"

LOL he's only 2 goals from tying the world class Draxler at 7 goals for NT. Draxler scored 7 career NT goals while Musiala is on track to surpass this in 1 year, LMAO.

still find it funny that we trashed Hungary with M of
    Andrich+Gross

reality neither are the type to win you a tourney. Both are types who honestly shouldn't even be making the team, LOL. They are just taking advantage of the gap and post and retirement of others.

like 2-6 years ago NOBODY would have thought that either would ever be XI for Germany or even more then this NEITHER would ever get called up to begin with, LOL. No way that either makes the team if Germany was Golden Generation mode.

I hope that the Stiller+Pavlovic+other next gen Ms emerge soon enough.

Apart from Pavlovic and Stiller who are the other upcoming young central midfielders?
Geiger had a huge potential but he wasted due to constant injuries

So I think nagelsman did the right thing by saying he is building on the same team as at the euros , as he always said he never built the team
Around Kroos - giving confidence to the current players that they can step up and replace players
One to one - that’s what he told this core team at the euros and he is now showing that he trusts them -
And boy ohh boy did they pay him back today for that trust and showed him and all
Of us they can step up .i find it great that he did that. This will give the team of trust and confidence.

    Some points from my side
    1. We are blessed to have MTs as replacement for Neuer - probably anyway in better shape then neuer at this stage
    2. Our defence is finally set and stable, good experience, good balance and well aged to take up this role. And most important we have a set defence .
    3. Defensive midfield - Gross and Andrich are exceptionally consistent and cool headed , maybe not world stars but very cool headed and with Pavlovic and Stiller with young generation to
Mix things up I think we are very okay on that position .
    4. Our attack is great not much needed to say there great to have Fulkrug start with Havertz as a supporting striker and Beier challenging as a youngster .

nagelsman wants to win the nation league and has this team basically as a set team using the NL juts to get more playing time
And experience for the next 2 years is
Perfectly setup for the World Cup .

I mean this team looks good ( sure a few tweaks) but if these guys play as a core team
Going forward for the next 2 years man ohh
Man I think they could really do
    Well .

when last have we had a core team
That will play together for so long .

    good times

Hungary sure no big team - but the way we struggled against teams like that in the past and the way we beat them yesterday is a great improvement.

looking forward to the game against Netherlands - as it’s a different opponent - will be interesting to see how our team does against them. The proof will be in the pudding come Tuesday . Let’s see….

ohh and coming back to the euros against Spain , nagelsman made one
    Mistake starting Can hope he
Learned from that tinker tinker bullcrap

obviously this game lacks the intensity of the Euros but i do wonder already whether things will go up a level now that Gundo is effectively replaced with a much younger workhorse who does an extraordinary amount of work and gets in the box. downside is Kai doesn’t have the midfield craft of Gundo. we shall see …

on the other hand in Wirtz you do have a hybrid 10 who can help in midfield

musiala will clearly play more as a wide player who will also provide the pace up top
