With weak central midfield, sidebacks, goalkeeper(if Ter Stegen doesn’t return to form) and non-performing center backs, form of Wirtz, Musiala, Havertz, Karl, Sane, Undav and Woltemode will determine how much Germany can progress in the World Cup.

Gruda joins Leipzig on loan from Brighton. Great signing for Leipzig and for Germany since he needs to play regularly and he can be very decisive with Leipzig. Maybe he moved a little bit early to PL but no one can ignore his talent. If he can find his form and be starter , nothing can stop him from being called to the WC.

I am looking forward for the combination of Quedraogo ( when he comes back from injury) and Gruda. The more germans in top BL teams the better chemistry they can form which would be crucial for Germany. Now all BL top teams have at least 4 or 5 germans except Leverkuson (only Andrich) and hoffenheim ( at least they have Lemperle, Baumann and Moerstadt).

Ter Stegen injured again. What a pity.

I have to say, the forum is very unfair to Baumann. He is likely only 2nd to MatS (if fit and in form) and a well rounded, experienced goalkeeper who fits the NT like a glove.

Ryan Don Naderi (22 yrs) makes his debut for Rangers few days after joining from 3rd league team Hansa Rostok and he makes a direct impression by scoring after just 8 min.

He scored 2 goals. Good start for him even if the team they were facing is weak.

A benched player at RM who used to be a starter for several years before this year is way ahead of someone like Anton whose team is leaking goals right and left every week for a much weaker team like Dortmund

Questions would be who would you start at WC - Tah and Shlotterbeck or Rudiger and one of TAH/Schlottie

I would go with Tah and Schloterbeck at this stage and Rudiger on bench

Tbf Rudiger is only benched due to just coming back from injury, will likely be a starter when fit. That being said we need to move on from him soon anyway, right now I would prefer a Schlotterbeck - Tah duo with the likes of Bisseck and Thiaw pushing for Tah's place.

Janelt was the best player on the pitch for Brentford away v Newcastle. Scored a nice header too. For me he's someone that has been at a pretty good level for a while, but rarely seems to be in the conversation for a NT call up.

Janelt is a solid player who has occasional very good games. However IMO he's not as good as Stach, who has been a game changer and team driver for leeds. I agree with though that he should always be under consideration.

Yann Bisseck is among the highest rated players in Serie A and the Champion's league this season. If there are 5 CB's in the squad (assuming all fully fit) then it probably should be:

    N. Schlotterbeck
    J. Tah
    A. Rudiger
    Y. Bisseck
    W. Anton

IMO Thiaw is too prone to having catastrophic games amidst his good ones.

Others to keep an eye on are J. Chabot and N. Sule.

I think Sule had his days...
But we seem to to be okay at CB if no major injuries occur

Havertz has been in beast mode since he came back. I worried he wasn't going to get over that knee injury

He's been playing as a hybrid forward off the 9 - he does drop into midfield a bit, but he's not really playing as an 8

Woltemade has to rise his game, though. Unfortunately if he continues his current poor form, I can see him getting dropped from the team. It doesn't help that Newcastle has a lot of problems of late.

Not sure Havertz, Wirtz, Musiala and Woltemade are an ideal fit together, they often occupy similar spaces. We ideally need someone to run in behind.

At this point, I would say Undav over Woltemade, possibly even Burkhardt if he can recover his form after injury recovery.
