Yes I agree the only reason to play Kimmich there I think Kimmich always find Sane with his through ball 30+ yards. He actually found Sane once in Turkey but Sane missed, kimmich can also shift to RB cover Henrichs's area when he push up. Nagelsman, Just give me no 6 with Gundo and kimmich above them once please
Yeah as it stands now this would be my starting 11 MTS Kimmich- Sule-Rudiger-Gosens GroSS- Gundo Sane-Musiala-Wirtz Fulkrug Kimmich can also chip to Sane from RB
It's been a while since the two opponents have spoken to each other. Since Nagelsmann took over the DFB team, the two have not spoken to each other on the phone, explained Rangnick. “But I saw what type of football he wanted to play,” said the ÖFB coach on Monday. This doesn't just apply to the three DFB games under Nagelsmann's direction. After all, Rangnick was a coach at TSG Hoffenheim when Nagelsmann became a youth coach. Years later he brought the 36-year-old to RB Leipzig. “Of course I know Julian and know what his game idea is,” said the 65-year-old. The DFB team has also “seen both”. Specifically, Rangnick means the two defensive variants. Against the USA (3:1) and Mexico (2:2), Nagelsmann played with a four-man chain; against Turkey (2:3), according to Rangnick, he used a “three-man chain structure with two jokers, as Julian likes to call it”. Before the game in Vienna, the question arises as to what tactical orientation the German team will focus on this time and whether they will repeat the experiment with Kai Havertz. According to Rangnick, Austria must be prepared “for different scenarios”. Rangnick contradicted the view that the Arsenal player would have played a classic role on the left against Turkey. "In my opinion, Havertz didn't play full-back, he was a joker in a 3-5-2," he said. The DFB team relied on two "wing backs" who "come more from the attacking midfield - with Leroy Sané on the right and Kai Havertz on the left." By the way, Austria has all hands on board to put Germany in its place, and Florian Grillitsch from TSG Hoffenheim, who was recently injured, will also be there, “as it looks like”. “We will play with the strongest possible eleven,” promised the ÖFB coach. “At no time” did we have any discussions with the DFB Rangnick did not want to overstate the fact that Austria was facing a weakened opponent. The Backnang native isn't particularly worried about Germany's performance at the home European Championship either: "Germany has the chance to play a really good EURO - because they have the quality of players and a real top coach in Julian." Incidentally, he himself was never discussed as a German national coach: Rangnick assured that there were “at no time” any discussions with the DFB.
Mhhhhh tickerman 3-5-2 now he tried it and again we know it does not work All coached make the same mistakes , we need Voller to play basic german footy
I can see how Wirtz, Musiala and Sane can cause absolute havoc - Fulkrug does not have to do much , he can just wait and have 10 touches to the ball and score two goals in the whole game .... Its the rest of the team that has to make sure they defend solid ...
Julian Nagelsmann about... ...the opponent Austria: We're trying to be the better team and win. Austria has many Bundesliga players and players who play in top European leagues and the Champions League. They have a team that defends very aggressively and goes well to the second ball. In Ralf Rangnick you have a coach who has a clear idea. They played a very good European Championship qualifier, so they are a very strong opponent. The Austrians have improved in many areas in recent years and have more than caught up with the top European teams. ... Kai Havertz as left-back: That wasn't a big experiment. Kai didn't play a classic left-back, we play different orders anyway, depending on whether we or the opponent have the ball. I was surprised that Kai was criticized; he won all the duels and stood well. Kai used his speed to fend off many counterattack situations. If he's fit, he'll be an option again tomorrow. But we may see a different player there tomorrow. ... the upcoming break until the next international match: After an international match phase, there are many other important games for the players. For us it's about leaving here with a good feeling. ... Thoughts on the European Championship draw: As with all draws, it's not in your own hands. However, I notice from the lottery pots that certain teams cannot be drawn for us. It is important that we find the right opponents during our preparation. It's about how an opponent plays football. After the draw, we will then prepare meticulously for the teams. ...emotions of the fans: It should always remain fair. Even in Bundesliga stadiums, it's nice when you don't whistle at your opponent, but rather support your own team. I am convinced that our fans support us. We are there to awaken the euphoria in them. … the Austrian coach: I had a lot of contact with Ralf Rangnick, in Hoffenheim and Leipzig. Ralf is someone who always had confidence in me and exchanged ideas with me early on. He is a coach who always challenges and encourages young players, which is what he did with me as a coach. I still have a good relationship with him. I think that being a coach is something he particularly enjoys. I know that he is very ambitious and really wants to win against us. … a possible double six: We always try to change something without changing much. We have an idea from the start and just swap players. It's about positioning yourself well to win the ball and not concede any goals and create lots of chances up front. We won't do completely different things, just adapt something. …public pressure: Of course you feel better as a player and coach when you win. By “hide the public” I mean reporting. In the end, there is no point in seeing everything as black and painting it negatively. If you know Ralf and me, you know that we are sometimes a little too honest in our analysis. I would like to take the public with me and give a real representation of what my opinion is. But I don't want to see everything as black, because that doesn't make anyone better.
Nice Fullkrug - Ducksch interview. https://tv.dfb.de/video/niclas-fuellkrug-marvin-ducksch-bromance/40541/
Voraussichtliche Aufstellung Trapp - Tah, Hummels, Rüdiger, Henrichs - P. Groß, Gündogan - Hofmann, Wirtz - L. Sané, Füllkrug Trainer Nagelsmann Reservebank Baumann, Blaswich, Raum, Süle, Andrich, Brandt, Gnabry, Goretzka, Havertz, Kimmich, T. Müller, Prömel, Ducksch I know this wont happen but can you imagine Kimmich, Goretzka and Gnabry all on the bench - -one would not have thought so a year ago...even Muller... Although not sure Hummels is fast enough for the NT
So a kind of 4-2-2-2 Leipzig type formation? That system would actually fully suit someone like Timo Werner or even Karim Adeyemi, if either can get back on form.
pathetic that we are playing back 3, like these coaches never learn. 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗫𝗜 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮 Trapp -Tah, Hummels, Rüdiger -Sané, Goretzka, Gündogan ©, Havertz -Gnabry, Brandt -Füllkrug#AUTGER 🇦🇹🇩🇪 pic.twitter.com/rVh2w3p4zp— Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) November 21, 2023
that was my Nagelsmann worry tbh, there was indications that he's a back 3 fanboy back at Bayern and looks to take this with him for Germany too........ I hope Havertz and Sane flop in D to end this BS.
Havertz and Sane WB is EXACTLY the sort of weird tactical stuff I expected from Nagelsmann lol. It didn't work v Turkey let's see if it goes better today. No Kimmich and also no Wirtz, which is a shame.
its mindboggling that old fart Voller who's been retired from coaching for like 20 years has more brains that Low+Flick+Nagelsmann combined. go back to basics and make it simple. nope every coach has to exaggerate and go over the top with formations and tactics.......
Doesn't Nagelsmann understand now's not the time to experiment? This team needs a basic structure and lean on it.
Lets go Dark Times 2.0!!!! 29 - With an average age of 29 years & 287 days, this is Germany's oldest starting eleven for over 23 years (Euro 2000 against Romania, 30 years & 86 days). Experience. #AUTGER @DFB_Team_EN— OptaFranz (@OptaFranz) November 21, 2023
Unless the back three + Havertz as a false FB is what we are lining up at the Euros, please just play the lineup that we will use when we're in an actual tournament
Nagelsmann seems to suffer from the same Tactical Genius Syndrome that aflicts Thomas Tuchel, where they just can't resist doing some weird experiment to show how smart and innovative they are.
