    59' Hungary leads 2:0 (2 x Sandor Torghelle)

I guess unlike us, Hungary knows how to put the ball in the net... ;)

    FT: Germany - Hungary 0:2

Is it true that Hungary was playing with a B-team?

Lothar Matthaus proves himself time and time again that hes a great coach. He's had some wierd coaching jobs though.

How can beating Germany prove that he is a great coach ? I mean, everyone does this.

This is another big dissapointment. I just don't want to believe we are no longer a good SECOND rate team. :(

Hitzfeld may be unretired before too long...

    Unbelieveable victory!!!!!!!
We played with our "C" team indeed!
There were a player from the hung 2nd league in the starting squad.
Many(16) players called off the match cause of injury.

At least we payed back a bit for that defeat in 1954.

I have the feeling that Germany will be embarassed by Holland and the Czech Republic, then they might pull out a 0-0 tie against Latvia.

Then Rudi will most certainly be fired after the early and embarrassing exit.

Frankly, Germany is capable of playing much better than this. They don't seem to play with intensity, motivation, concentration, team-work, or a winning attitude. German teams of the past were always known for great fitness, and playing hard for all 90 minutes, and playing with efficiency, even when they lacked great world class talent. Nowadays, these players are coming out with half-ass performances that would embarrass a bad, half-drunken, over-the-hill pub team.

The German squad is the definition of inconsistent. When they're on, they can compete with the best. When they're not, they lose to Romania.

    What a painful loss ...
When Hungary leaded with 2-0 I hoped it´s a remake of wc final ´54 but I was disappointed.

I think now Germany will get a result against the Dutch, unless the Holland team suddenly gels and finds a bit of that traditional Dutch team spirit (!). Both teams will be really motivated for that game, a draw is the likely result. Its the next two matches that will be decisive.

I find all this really embarassing.
It´s a shame how we present us.

    A shame...

I would sum up the German NT and this game's performance in one word: Unvermögen (translated by various dictionaries as Inability, Incapacity, and Impotence). I'll probably post a more critical review later, when I find time.
