The jersey above looks far superior than the "pink, purple, red" formula as posted by Dage, which looked concerning. I actually really like how this jersey took some risks with the design and think it looks good. But the white shorts will still annoy me, however. Black shorts provide a contrasting counterbalance to the white jerseys that I'd prefer to continue to see rather than an all-white kit with a design.
Don't like it. Old concept of chevron doesn't need to be re-modernized. It's not strong enough as a primary design element. Not the way it's used here.
As I said before, I'm not a fan but having seen that realistic rendition it could grow on me. I will be of course adding it to my replica shirt collection. The thing that I think all of us will be united on is the disappearance of the black shorts. Some of those late and great players who wore the famous Trikots of old will be spinning in their graves at this decision by some design hack.
Oh yea, I will buy it because I'm getting every Germany home kit but it might be my second least favorite now along with the 2006 design. (which has aged terribly) Good design is timeless. It can remain a marker of its time but not lose its potency. The best designs still hold up. This one just seems like it's picking up a few ongoing design trends now but not doing anything quote original with it, which I think should really be the aim of a kit that is worked on for two years after all. If it just wasn't the Chevron...ugh

I like it. Especially the white shorts. I think it was at the 2002 world cup where the German NT had to wear an all white kit and I really liked the idea ever since. It's just a much cleaner design. I mean I get the "traditionalist" view, I really understand it, heck, I'm guilty of it more often than I'd like myself. But in this case, I'm all for change. Plus, it's just one iteration. I'm sure the next one will revert to the white/black coloring theme. Also, I do like the Flamengo style away kit, but I much preferred the all-black ones we were using at the 2010 WC. And I do also like the current green away kits...I guess that's the inner traditionalist breaking through.
Nope. In 2002 every game was played with a wonderfully plain white shirt with black trim and black shorts - the best Trikot of the modern era. The all-white thing last happened back in the 1970s. Yes, the designs will return to the white/black, but breaking with this trend means that we could end up looking Austria. Now that would be bad.
I've definitely seen it with a 2002 jersey...might have been a qualifier or friendly... Dunno, it's not like Austria is traditionally all white...maybe New Zealand

The thing about the 1998 jersey is that I really should like it, but I don't. It's all the little details that are wrong. First of all, the cut was bad, then the black sides looked terrible and the material itself was kinda shiny in a bad way while the V-Collar and the sleeves looked simply cheap. The 2002 one is very classic and I like it a lot, but the cut was even worse than in 1998, which is why it won't make it on my all time favorite list. I agree that the 2006 one hasn't aged too well, but I still like it, albeit it's also not one of the best. I have to say I really like the current crop of shirts. My favorite is 2010, but I also really like the current one. Other than that I also really like the 1990 one, but at this point, I can't say if it's merely for sentimental reasons or because there really was something special about the design. But I guess it doesn't matter. And then I also really like the 1978 one and here it's certainly not for sentimental reasons. By far the worst is the 1994 jersey. The team looked like a bunch of unemployed court jesters in it...
Actually, there is a small golden stripe at the bottom of the V, just like the black one on top of it...not that it makes much of a difference. I'll have to see it in real life before I can make any real judgement, but so far, I like what I see...

I actually liked the cut of the 2000-era shirts, in that this one, the charcoal grey away shirt and the white Bayern shirt from this time are among my favourites. Maybe it's to do with body shape, but I really liked these ones. The 2006 shirts were clearly of their time, but there's a certain something about them. I do like the red one with the black "off the shoulder" look. Yes, the 2010 white shirt was great. I can't put my finger on why, but I supposed everything just came together nicely, from the gold metallic crest through the three very subtle vertical pinstripes. The black one was also a classic design. The crest being in the shield was not great - it could have done without that - but in terms of bad points there was not much really. lol. It was meant to symbolise an eagle, or something. I called it the "checkerboard". I guess with the official team song being performed by the Village People, that slightly camp, jesterly look was wholly appropriate!
