Just in case you're not aware, Holland is not the name of the country. It is just a region that takes up about 20% of the land of the nation of The Netherlands. Only 5 of the teams in the whole league are in the region of Holland.
Thanks for the clarification. I got more information on the Netherland's OFFICIAL tourist website: www.holland.com. SA
(The Kingdom of) the Netherlands is the official name of the country colloquially referred to in some parts of the world as Holland. Even the tourist website that you linked acknowledges this fact (http://www.holland.com/us/tourism/holland-information/about-holland/netherlands-vs-holland-1.htm). You can argue that all this is pedantic, but you cannot argue that Holland is an official name of the Netherlands because it isn't.
And I'm not. That's why the little winky smiley face. I fully acknowledge that the name of the country in question is The Netherlands (Kingdom of). Holland is the name of only a small region of said country. To all the Dutch readers and those who wish for accuracy on the board I offer my sincerest apologies. Having said that, all future reference to matches played in the Netherlands and TV info thereof, will continue to be referred to (wrongly) as Holland because it has 4 less letters I have to type. (And if Fox or ESPN don't step up to the plate in the next few weeks its all a mute point anyway, isn't it??). Go Orange!! SA www.soccertvblog.com
Didn't want to start a new thread to ask this but I am wondering if Univisión Deportes will still show Ligue Un action, despite the fact Memo Ochoa signed for Málaga? I am pretty sure UD showed L1 games last year that didn't involve Ajaccio...but I could be wrong? @socceraction
It seems that there will NOT be any more coverage of the Ligue-1 on Univision Deportes. Based on this week (and next), beINSport now owns both English and Spanish language rights to the league. SA www.soccertvblog.com

It looks like Eredivisie coverage is a lost cause this year. I'm surprised Univision Deportes didn't step in. I realize Dutch league does not hold a lot of cache, just figured Univision Deportes would be trying to get their hands on anything they could. Seems that doesn't apply though without some sort of Mexican connection though.
Or Eredivisie could be great programming for fox deportes, which does nothing but show champions league reruns on the weekends.
BeIN has steadily improved, making use of both channels last season. So far they seem back to some stupid tricks. Their Friday night schedule is littered with 30 minute junk. They could show the Lille game on delay and they could do this by skipping a freelancer, have an engineer bring up the English feed, and cut half-time to just show commercials. They could show something else during that time on BeIÑ. It looks like Univision has also not renewed rights for the DFB Pokal. In some sense, I'm fine with that since this is a channel that gets 2 things right: LigaMX and WC. Maybe CONCACAF CL and MLS but I don't watch either. They butchered Coupe de France last season and made a mess of some DFB Pokal matches as well. It's easier to find complete games via other routes.
Lost Eredivisie, and Boca and River games(still havent seen explanation for this anywhere), Ligue 1 extra games on Univision Deportes. Gained Benfica home games. Am i missing anything?
As far as Argentina, as far as I can piece together, GolTV had the rights to both Boca and River matches. For a season or two they showed both, but last season they picked one game to show and sublicensed the other game to TyC Sports International USA. It looks like the deal ran through June 2014. It appears that no one currently has the TV rights to Boca and River games, which is why TyC shows all Primera Division games except those involving Boca or River. (They also have rights both in Argentina and abroad to the Primera B Metropolitana, which is the regionalized third tier.) Futbol Para Todos (the rights holder in Argentina, affiliated with the Argentine government) puts all Primera Division games up live on YouTube without any geographical restrictions, so that may be complicating someone purchasing the TV rights for the USA.
Wonder if any of the Spanish channels pick up the Eredivisie now that Guardado has joined PSV on loan......
Still can't believe that no Spanish network picked up eredivise rights for this year with Guardado and Corona featuring so prominently for PSV and Twente respectively.
They showed the games last season (in both English and Spanish through SAP) but not this season. Curiously, I noticed a few months ago that when ESPNFC showed Dutch league highlights it still said "courtesy GolTV." So do they still have the rights but don't show the games?
