When Max Beister and Nicolai Muller coming back from injury for Hamburg? Muller, Beister on the wings, Holtby as 10 and Lassoga upfront would be exciting for NT lovers

Beister is gradually improving with his rehab is being handled carefully. He can resume training on the field later this month. A return in mid-late October is likely. Nicolai Müller is closer to returning. Already took part in running exercises and is back in team training this week. He's expected to be ready after the international break.

Lars Bender is almost back to full fitness and should return after the international break. Will be interesting to see him in Roger Schmidt's new system, I think he can progress a lot there. With Rolfes out several weeks, this also gives a chance for Öztunali to emerge.

Daniel Ginczek is also close to his return with his condition improving each day. Already taking part in training with Stuttgart, and is using this break to integrate back into the team.

Ibisevic has been terrible for Stuttgart in the last few months (the last 2 months of last season and the first two games this season)

I hope he'll be benched and play Ginczek there instead. But hey, when will Timo Werner's chance come?

Great game by Mönchengladbach players in their win versus Schalke. Two nice goals by Andre Hahn. First goal scored on the fast counter attack. Drove forward finding space along the wing and finished with a powerful shot into the top corner. For the second, scored winning an aerial header from the centre of the box. Great elevation and positioning. Also quite the performance by Max Kruse. Delivered the assists on both of Hahn's goals. And then scored the team's third after collecting a through ball pass and converting nicely. Patrick Herrmann with some good contributions, his cross creating the chance for the 4th goal by Raffael.

Huh? Werner played full time against Bayern you know, did you saw the match? All I remember from him in that match is that one shot over the crossbar though. Other than him, Leitner is lively but ineffective and Rudiger is playing great and more or less Stuttgart best player aside from Ulreich.

Kramer, Hahn n Grosskreutz have been playing well. Kramer and Grosskreutz were two fringe players in the WC roster but made great improvement

Schalke players with a strong display of resilience in the opening match of CL Group Stages against Chelsea. Draxler was spectacular, really asserting himself on the attack. I've been critical of him lately, but this is a match where he's responded positively to immense pressure. Looked unstoppable on those series of great runs weaving through Chelsea players and showing clever elements of skill. Nearly scored just before the half, assisted later on the equalizing goal from another attack launched by his incredible run. Neustädter did well filling in to anchor the defensive line. Stepped up to take place as centre-back, and was rock solid the entire match. Confident playing in a position that is unfamiliar to him. Made a decisive goal-line clearance to keep the score leveled. Fährmann was clutch, making big saves to keep them in this close game.

Fahrmann was pretty good last night. It must really suck to be a German GK if you have real international aspirations.

Draxler, however, was the star of that entire match. Great runs, clever skills and surprisingly commanding performance.

Good performances all around today. Götze with 2 goals. Müller had a goal and 2 assists. Class back heel flick on that team link up play setting up Götze on the first.

Meyer played a great game. Nice techniques and individual effort on his goal. Neustädter with another significant display. Continues to be one of Schalke's best defensive players lately.

Rudy played his second match in a row as starting right-back for Hoffenheim. He's a solid contributor with his crossing and set pieces. Assisted last game, and scored on a nice free kick yesterday. Defensive aspect is showing gradual improvements. Completed good tackles, and was second highest on the field in duels won.

Götze so far has been playing very well for Bayern. Looks to be finally back in form after the injury and perhaps losing 1-2 kilos he had too many.

Really impressive stuff this season yet from Meyer. I hope that he'll keep this up and maybe participate in the lead-up matches to the Euros.

    In other news, YES, SCHALKE!

Also, Durm started over Schmelzer in the derby today, with no Schmelzer injury as far as I'm aware. Could he be winning the competition for LB?

Nice article about how Götze has really raised his level of play during the recent run of games:
    http://www.dw.de/the-re-making-of-mario-götze/a-17959642

Dennis Aogo is having a reemergence in form. Good performance in the Revierderby, setting up both of Schalke's goals on set pieces. Also organized well defensively covering the left-back position.

Shkodran Mustafi has been efficient in his first 2 full starts with Valencia CF, playing all 90 mins in each game. Contributed towards the clean sheet last week in their 3-0 win over Cordoba. A match where he achieved an 83% passing accuracy, 75% aerials won, and had 79 touches on the ball. Mustafi was solid again today win their 1-1 draw vs Real Sociedad. Marca gave him a 7 rating, which tied as top performer. Also made a key header clearance in stoppage time that helped maintain the level score.

Rather than winning its a case of who is the lesser of two evils.

Most of our full-backs haven't looked good so far . 4 CBs it is then.

Rode looked good as a full back in the one match that he was played there.

Hector has been Köln's best player so far this season. Technically sound left-back that operates well on both ends of the pitch. His dribbling ability and link play offers provides good dimension on the attack.

When everyone is fit, he will play Lahm there in the big matches with Alonso, Thiago and Schweinsteiger in the middle.
