Do they really need Fullkrug? I wonder

    They have plenty of strikers

Will Cedric Teuchert make a step forward?

Teuchert will probably take 2-3 years of development to reach a consistent higher level. The kid is still 19. He's at a good club right now though. FCN have been effective at nurturing young talents, and will look towards him as an important player for the future.

Dunno why people turned on Volland; he was excellent last season once Nagelsmann took charge.

I can see Volland thriving in the Leverkusen system. They have a well balance squad with players like Chicharito, Bellarabi, Brandt, Calhanoglu, Kampl, Aranguiz, etc who are all agile and can link up on attacking sequences. Öztunali won't be a starter right now but his return will give them additional depth on multiple coverage.

From the match ratings of Hertha's EL qualifiers vs Brondby:

    Mitchell Weiser : 2

Mitchell Weiser was against Bröndby one of the most striking players on the pitch. The 22-year-old not only assisted the goal to go ahead 1: 0 and win, but also had a good header opportunity. On the right side there were always dangerous actions and had good passing plays with Ibisevic.

Since moving to Hertha, he has primarily be used as a winger.

I'm not sure that's correct. I only watched them sporadically, but Pekarik only played in 12 matches; and he's who steps in at RB when Weiser plays further forward. It seem liks Weiser actually started more games on at RB than RW, though he did play RW more in the final parts of the season.

I must be thinking mostly of the second half of the season. I didn't watch a ton of Hertha matches, but he was mostly a winger in the ones I did see.

Yeah that was my impression as well until I looked it up. Seems like that was something they turned to in the second half of the season...probably to strengthen their defensive prowess once their luck in front of goal started to dry up, as Weiser-Pekarik is much stronger defensively than Haraguchi-Weiser.

I hope Volland plays well this upcoming season and than plays at next year's Confederations Cup as to have 2 strikers on the team for the WC 18.

In other news, Mustafi who I think is pretty meh when playing for Germany, he was the weak link back in WC 14 until he got injured might transfer to Arsenal.

Would be nice if Volland could continue the great form he was in for TSG after the coaching change.
