How does one team travel 14326km and another travels only 1784km?

If get as 1st out of the group the route to the semis is much nicer with Port Alegre and Rio de Janeiro both with 5 pm playing times. If we get as 2nd out means Salvador(5pm) again and then Brasilia(1pm).

I never thought I would say this but...
I just hope Germany plays like Netherlands. It's a perfect combination between counter-attack and possession with high pressure most of the time which suits Löw very well IMO.

Can't rely entirely on tiki-Taka or possession.. Needa have both counter n possession in the system

Maybe Loew will be discouraged by the results. Looks like Podolski, Mueller n Schuerrle should all be starting

Loew should kick Siegenthaler out of his scouting team. Siegenthaler is the one who told possession football is better in Brazil due to the weather and stamina consumed from players, see Spain.

Your memory is false. Siegenthaler was the one who told Löw you cant play tiki-taka down there.

And please let's not start another Spain discussion here. It's sickening.

I think Schürrle will have a main role in that. His finishing, Dribbling, pace and movement/positioning in the box will be key. Schurrle needs to wok on his decision making though.

Schuerrle has great scoring rate, especially when he is mainly used as a sub for the NT in the past

If Oezil is used as false 9, I think he'll drop back a lot and Mueller+Schuerrle will be the main forwards rotating up top. More like a 4-4-2 diamond if Lahm is the DM

We have some players like Podolski n Schuerrle who allowed us to play more direct. Depends on what formation Loew is using

Altough I'm a Fan of Guardiola's play style, Tiki-Taka is complete useless now. Teams figured a way to defeat it and I doubt Löw would be that stupid now trying to bring it into the team. So I don't worry about that. On the other hand, I wouldn't discard possession, as you could see Netherlands had lots of possession in the second half and scored 4 goals. I think Germany has the perfect balance with players like Özil, Podolski and Khedira to play a more direct style and bring on the counter, but also players like Kroos, Lahm and basically every Bayern player to hold possession. So we have the variety that Löw always wanted. :)

    I want to see this:

    ----------------Neuer
    --Boateng-Merte-Hummels--KG
    ----------------Lahm
    ------------Khedira-Kroos
    --Mueller----Schuerrle-----Goetze

Really hope Loew has been watching the games and that he may effectively adapt this over complicated possession and false 9 malarky to play more direct and simple football just like WC 2010, which so far this world cup has shown would be very effective.

Admittedly Germany have the unlucky times of playing all their games in the early/middle of the day but still overall a direct apporach is perfect for Germany.

I think the players are fine even with the fitness and injury concerns but really hope Loew does not over complicate this now.

And i also hope Ozil comes good. Personally think even on the left he could offer much more than Schurrle can

Inside source, very good chance Oezil will be starting, but as a false 9 in a 4-3-3

Like Bild have originally reported but later they switched to Schuerrle

Oezil is the better player but Schuerrle is a better False 9 n much better finisher as we have some issue in converting chances into goals

From the examples of Spain, coaches can't always think of the past and start some big-names. See Casillas and Xavi.

In our case Schweini n Oezil?

It's likely that Germany starts with Höwedes, Hummels, Mertesacker and Boateng.
I think the 4 CB defensive is too slow. Was there ever a successful team with 4 CB in the back? I don't see how this should work permanently.
