Who would we put in a 4-6-0 formation??

Who would make those runs into the box or be a target man when necessary..

    Lahm-hummels-badstuber-schmelzer
Reus Khedira Ozil kroos piggy muller

Have gotze replace muller for impact sub 60th. He links up brilliantly with reus and can with Ozil.
Schurrle can sub reus in the 70th+

They can try this kind of formation against Kazakhstan series and see. Maybe the France game if he brings his A team..

That's the lineup I want to see in at least the france friendly and first Kazakhstan match.

Gomez has shown some nice link-up play in the few minutes he played lately, even though I prefer a fit Klose as a CF I don't see the 4-6-0 as necessary, even in a post Klose era. At least not as our standard line up.

    Why not a 3-2-5-0 formation? ;)

    Lahm hummels boetang
    Khedira piggy
    Reus gotze Ozil kroos muller

What a midfield that would be ;)

Games would result in a 4-4 with that formation.
Then again, at times they already do now.

Right??? Might as well over inflate our powerful midfield and destroy teams from the middle...

Lets play a 0-0-10 formation instead...

Wait, we can't. Germany doesn't have that many strikers...

Not really, he's 27 or so. Not the time to pick such a huge aspect of the game.

Not many people notice but i think this season, more n more young German strikers start for their clubs in the 1BL than the previous seasons

Nils Petersen is one; then we have Sebastian Polter, Shawn Parker, Maximilian Beister..... i think Parker and Beister are better off as second strikers in a 2-strikers formation, but looks like they are emerging at least. And even Volland plays at AM for Hoffenheim, i think he is capable to play up top as well

Beister plays pretty well by the way and Petersen has a decent scoring record so far

Appparently all the media have mentioned the lack of striker options for the NT, the DFB have also discussed this situation with various BL clubs. If this continues, i think one or two may breakout and becomes the 3rd striker for the NT, after Gomez and Klose of course

Kicker reports about fears Germany could not field a good team next summer at the friendlies at the USA trip. Reason: La Liga still has a match day at June, 1st (means Özil and Khedira out) and if Bayern Munich or Dortmund reach the CL final their players will also not make the trip (clubs do not have to send their players to the friendlies because it is no offical FIFA international match day). At least Podolski and Mertesacker will probably be on board since the English NT does a prestige friendly on June, 2nd in Brazil and the EPL release the players early for friendlies.

It's going to be a snooze fest with the C or D team. I wouldn't even be surprised if the US wins the match.

Yah I don't know what it might turn into..

On one hand if we send our A team that means Dortmund and Bayern crashed out of cup completions
If we don't send our A team that means were finalists ;)

Would love to see the NT here in the states though ;(

Plus, Germany u21 will start playing in the Euro u21 on June, 5th. That is a pretty good team too. I like a lot of the players but they wont be able to come too. For sure, one of Dortmund(most likely) and Bayern will not reach the Champions League final and both teams have a lot of players in the national team so I am sure it won't be too bad. Schalke have Hoewedes and Neustaedter who will most likely come. I dont think Draxler is going to the Euro u21 so he will come. Holtby is definitely not coming. From Leverkusen, Lars Bender and Schuerrle will be coming and maybe Kiessling, Castro and Rolfes. The legend Klose will be coming if not injured. Aogo and Westermann. Maybe Ozcipka although I doubt it.

Those are a lot of good players right there.

I was under the impression that players who participated in the DFB Pokal final would also be excused from this. There is a good chance that either or both FCB and BVB will play in that match.

It is what it is, they'll put together a decent squad. Just imagine what a C squad would have lookd like 5-6 years ago.

I will never forget the glorious confederations cup in 1999 when players like Mustafa Dogan, Ronald Maul and Heiko Gerber made their NT debut...

Exactly. And I actually liked Gerber!

Have no problems seeing players like Zieler, Kiessling, Tasci, Beck, Castro, etc. next summer.

My best roster for WC 2014:

    GK) Neuer, Adler, ter Stegen

DF) Lahm, Hummels, Badstuber, Howedes, Badstuber, Schmelzer, Oczipka

MF) Schweinsteiger, Khedira, Gundogan, L.Bender, Goetze, Reus, Thomas Mueller, Oezil, Schuerrle, Kroos

FW) Klose, M.Gomez, Yesil/Fullkrug/Ducksch (3rd striker wont be playng much anyway, but Klose is about time to step down. So let the kid learn from the tournament. Will be helpful to his development)
