As long as Dallmann is wasting everyone's time as a CAM, Germany have 10 players in this match.

Not surprising, but Nüsken's also struggling with the tasks necessary with her role as a CB, as both FB's are also far bellow what's required.

 

MVT won't address the CB or LB situations, but it's obvious Lohmann should be playing, and will likely positively effect the match the moment she enters too.

Dallmann HAS to make herself more involved though, or place herself wide and allow Huth to move centrally. But so far this looks exactly like I thought it would.

 

Lattwein also keeps fouling everything that moves lol... a one and two touch player, she's struggling with the style of this game being far more 1v1 focused.

Plus missing one or two key individuals, you can really see how poorly organised Germany are within this 4-3-3 system.

I wonder how poor Doorsoun and Kleinherne must feel to see MVT choosing a midfielder as a CB instead of them lol. I mean, this would be such a good opportunity to see Nüsken in DM to allow Oberdorf a bit further up and use Lohmann as well.

But Popp is great. But this team is really dependent on her it feels like... so now that Australia could be her last tournament, it will be interesting to see what happens once she's gone

 

1-0 HT: After France would create the best chances, Germany's first attempt on goal see's Popp out muscle her defender to guide a close range header into the net.

 

Yes... Nüsken really isn't the answer to the coaches finding new CB options, and has a skill set that is still clearly missed in a CM role today, facing an opponent who's basically first to everything that doesn't feature duels with Oberdorf.

Lohmann is also must in the 2nd half, with Dallmann still a complete non factor as a CAM at this level of competition. It's shocking seeing how much time Dallmann allowed to have, when it's ridiculously obvious now she'll never contribute to this team success if it means remaining in the CAM role...

 

Popp is genuinely huge... but don't sleep on the true leadership of Hendrich in this team too.

Popp basically doing the work of 3 players today, as Bühl, and Dallmann, both continue to stink lol. But Hendrich is keeping the defence together right now, as Nüsken appears lost within the demands of her new role.

 

Jule Brand makes an instant impact in the 2nd half, creating a move that leads to Huth finding Popp at the back post for 2-0 Germany.

Brand comes in for Bühl, Lohmann replacing Dallmann.

 

Rauch receives the first yellow of the match, doing the exact thing we've come to expect from her (she still can't tackle...), and France get a free kick that almost leads to them scoring from a weak clearance from Frohms.

 

Yeah, like you keep wondering why someone like Elsig's not in this team as a CB anymore when MVT keeps using midfielders lol. Like Hendrich and Hegering are probably only sticking around for Australia as well, then perhaps the Olympics. But that's it. There's a really good team now, but unless the defensive issues are addressed within the next years, Germany will be stuck with supertalented midfielders and wingers but a terrible defense lol

Also Frohms must be questioned as the firstchoice because she keeps doing terrible mistakes for both country and club

 

Lohmann breaks through mid-field, passes out wide to Lattwein, who delivers a cross on to Popp's head.... but Popp misses the target on a chance you'd expect her to finish.

EDIT: Huth with a perfect cross, that Nüsken in an advanced role misses right in front of an open goal. And then France wastes a good chance at the other end lol.

 

I'd pay for MVT to move Nüsken up to the midfield and see her play with Lohmann, Oberdorf and Lattwein lol

 

She appears to struggle with high crosses into her box... but she still has time to improve on this, and has too given her new #1 role with club and country.

 

As she brings Schüller into the match, and takes Oberdorf out...

It's as if MVT doesn't want to see a strong mid-field...

 

Sighs. It's really a pity.

But I think Lohmann and Lattwein are doing a pretty good job in what seems to be a double 6 at times, with Lohmann playing more as an 8 at times

 

Brand is making A LOT of very basic errors now... If she just calms down, she'd get the opportunity to score. But right now, she's rushing everything, and wasting some really good opportunities to counter attack France.

 

Lohmann's just really good. From not having any mid-field with Dallmann in a CAM role, to having an all action Lohmann producing an effect on both ends of the field.

I can't understand why MVT won't start Lohmann more, but she's too good to remain a bench player for much longer.

 

I think it's obvious that Oberdorf and Lohmann must start in the midfield from now on. So it's up to MVT to have the balls to ditch Däbritz for now.

Anyomi... Frohms...

 

Anyomi finally makes the error that leads to a direct chance for France, and Frohms fouls the French forward to see them score from the PK 2-1.

Anyomi's inability to defend space, is only made worse by her inexperienced decision making. While she's doing OK in a RB role, it's clear Linder, or Rall, need to be part of future squads.
