considering how dominating Bender & Fudelia were vs Batfink’s beloved Lotta yesterday, you would think they could make at least the honorary list. I don’t get how Hendrich & Rauch made that list(and not Kossler) since they’re both recovering from injuries & as well with Cerci. But glad that Wuck choosing others than Johannes & Berger at GK, must of watched them perform this last week, lol

I can understand Austria in an fight for its life, so not to be taken for granted, but so far nobody been exceptional for them this season in the Bundesliga or anywhere else. so I do think it would of been an good time to try newbies & give some of the regulars an break

    U23 Reserves List...

    Kiara Beck - VfB Stuttgart
    Rebecca Adamczyk - SC Freiburg
    Anneke Borbe - Arsenal FC
    Rafaela Borggräfe - Bayer Leverkusen

    Alina Axtmann - SC Freiburg
    Annaleen Böhler - Hamburger SV
    Meret Felde - SC Freiburg
Jasmin Janning - FC Carl Zeiss Jena
Nastassja Lein - 1. FC Nürnberg
    Julia Mickenhagen - Bayer Leverkusen
    Sophie Nightingale - SC Freiburg
Melina Reuter - FC Carl Zeiss Jena
    Marleen Schimmer - RB Leipzig
    Greta Stegemann - SC Freiburg
    Nia Szenk - SC Freiburg
    Selina Vobian - SC Freiburg

Glonning shouldn't be in the main squad. Mid-field or defense, Reuter, Vobain, Mickenhagen, Szenk, all better than Glonning (and D.Acikgöz), but continue to be ignored by these coaches...

Stegemann, Schimmer, Lein, Felde, all the older selections who had to be omitted this time around. I would honestly have liked to see Schimmer elevated to the main u23 squad though, knowing the current lack of strong candidates for the wide forward roles within the senior wnt.

Schimmer being quick, dynamic, with an explosive shooting ability, feels like a player who needs regular contact with a higher standard of play, to truly understand what she needs to do in order to reach a next level of her own potential.

Kassandra Potsi signed with Bayern, and disappeared from all things football...

If the u19's facing Ireland, Slovakia, France in the 2nd round, again... regardless of genuine talent for the future existing within this generation, expectations should still remain very very low.

Other nations are integrating new talent into their senior teams, Germany still out here pretending Freigang will ome day magically turn into a credible international level talent...

Senß - Nüsken - Dallmann, can help Germany qualify for a WC... but in no way does this trio represent the quality necessary to win a WC...:cautious:

Mühlhaus replaces Zicai in the senior wnt, Natchtigall gets called into the u23's as the replacement for Mühlhaus.

Again, this just highlights the absolute non existent depth in the senior wnt's wide forward roles. So knowing more CM depth exists, I'd honestly prefer Dallmann just remain a wide player for the rest of her wnt career.

Zicai not senior international quality (yet), Bühl injured, it's just Endemann, and Brand who's left; making Dallmann a more than suitable candidate for a wide forward role.

Senß, Nüsken, all set to remain first choice until Oberdorf returns. But it should be obvious to the damn coaches why Freigang shouldn't be part of the senior anymore.

Mühlhaus being elevated back to the senior wnt a positive, as it should also help remove pressure to constantly fall back to placing a inconsistent veteran Dallmann in a CAM role.

The u23's still possessing a few options who should be allowed to start ahead of Mühlhaus. Bartz slowly resuscitating her career at HSV a name to test in CM again. But Steiner the one who's been proving to be a surpringly effective AM at club level.

Hopefully both will get to see a good proportion of match time for a u23's in need of quality mid-field replacements for Mühlhaus, Gräwe, Alara.

It's crazy Mahmoud has been injured this season. I feel she would have had a wide open path to becoming a regular member of the senior wnt.

Zicai elevated far too early, while Alber's career has been set back at least 2 years. Bender possesing all the talent, can't stay healthy long enough to put together a run of good form or productivity.

The u23 wide talent not progressing as hoped. It probably leaving Dallmann the only credible wide option, knowing the wnt coaches will never select Kössler as a wide option.

And whats going to be even more annoying, is watching Mahmoud return to first team football, just as options like Alber, Bender, finally begin to regain full momentum...

Either way, I hope there's a real plan to move beyond using Wamser or Cerci in the wide roles come WC time.

At some point it will need to be explained why Behringer the only wnt coach within the whole program allowed to run their own separate system/style of play...

She's accomplished everything as a player, but as a coach, none of her teams display the quality of football, or the positive results, to justify her being allowed such a unique privilege.

3-5-2 making absolutely zero sense for a program who #1 lacks a lot of strong depth in traditional goal scoring forwards #2 has a limited depth of strong wingers #3 known to have a poor history with generating elite CB's.

Behringer's system applying huge pressure to young CB's, rendering good CM's useless, removing any real width, asking weak strikers to create for themselves lol.

Every other coach following the same script, uses a back 4, a variation of the 3 player mid-field, with a lone forward in attack.

Surely at some point Behringer's performance using her 3-5-2 will need to be assessed; as she's not showing any real signs of improvement unless she actually gets this system to qualify for a Euro finals, and then a WC...no?

Lotta was commanding with nice attacking runs, though her goal was gifted by brilliant work by the #19. Good 1v1 play from both Kolb & Portela. While these two might of not peaked yet at club level they’ll have promising futures. Who was the #13?(she came in as an sub)

u23 play later on today, but if it’s anything like the last, few times, this coach will restrict 1v1 attacking style that the u19’s had just displayed

U23 Germany vs Belgium 0-0 halftime. Can’t stand this coach, everything got to be slow motion build up & all the crosses & passes got to be centered to the middle which gives all the time in the world for Belgium to set up their defenses. Both CB’s & FB’s are coming up the pitch way too high, which could lead to easy counter goals——shades of MVT & Stefi Jones horror show coaching, lol

they say it’s going to PK shootout at thr end of 90 minutes if nobody’s ahead—-let’s hope it don’t come to that!

Despite miserable coaching, Germany wins 2-1. This apparently sets them up for a chance for 5th place game despite nobody’s knows for sure what this tournament is all about?

Birkholz keeps on scoring but that’s in part the whole offense was build around getting it into her CF position. With some fancy footwork Baum looking more like to be called up by Wick in the near future

I would give Belgium’s Manneart POG. Very tall speedy player though not sure exactly what position she was supposed to play, but incredibly fast up & down the pitch—probably will be picked up an Bundesliga team next day! lol

So.. after the initial season watching the u23's, I feel it's become very evident the coach isn't going to be selecting the best possible starting 11's...

Steiner has been fantastic in a AM role this season. Baum showing signs of developing genuine end product as a wide forward. Diehm continues to provide league leading analytical data as a DM/Libero. So why aren't these players being used in these same roles for the u23's?

The only forwards that should be considered starters....
    ----------------- Birkholz/Weidauer -----------------
    Alber/Schimmer ---------------- Baum/Bender

Mid-field options should be very simple to select...
    AM: Steiner, Vobain, Fudalla
    CM: Bartz, Piljic, Zdebel
    DM: Deihm, Felde

Defenders even more simple to select...
    FB: Mickenhagen, Szenk, Gonzalez, Mattner
    CB: Ostemeier, Stoldt, Landenberger, Axtman

Overage players being Ostemeier, Schimmer, Weidauer, Felde, Vobain, and potentially Stegemann. This team really shouldn't be so convoluted to select... yet I'm here again watching the coach go out of his way to make games far more difficult than they should be...

Birkholz continues to validate my belief she's the best striker we've seen so far for the u23's. Stylistically she also looks to be better traditional #9 than Martinez ever looked like at this level of football...:whistling:

Finding goals with limted amounts of service also a good sign for Birkholz, as she doesn't appear to be someone who needs a lot of touches to remian a threat; this a real hard to develop quality for elite forwards in this sport.

If the u23's actually supplied Birkholz with service, I wonder how she'd look with more early balls played behind defenses for her to get 1v1's against the last defender...:cautious:

Baum NEEDS to recieve more starting minutes wide right. With Schimmer also another effective wide forward option who needs to be tested at the u23 level.

I can't understand why the u23 coach persists with playing Baum in a FB role, when she has 5 goals 1 assist this season... This better than Alber's 2 goals, and closer to Bender's 4 goals 4 asissts this season.

If the u23's brought in Schimmer (6 goals and 1 assist), it would make more sense to see both Leipzig wide forwards tested for a program in real need of depth in this particular position.

Alber still working her way back to her past form, I struggle to understand why Baum, or Schimmer can't be u23 level starters given their club form this season.

    Schimmer --------- Birkholz ---------- Baum
Bender and Alber on the bench, is what we should have seen at least once with the u23's this season... but no... nothing lol.
