The most obvious upgrading to this team still resides in finding better box to box mid-fielder (which they have). Questions will continue to haver over the CB's, and the credibility of the attack to create and score goals. But I maintain... get a real CM, and the rest of this team pretty much selects itself.
Next up is facing Norway away from home. And again... I have no idea what team Wück will select. I don't see Küver being used in back to back games, which could mean the return of the Minge - Knaak CB partnership. Does Wück keep Brand wide right, or does he revert Brand back to the CM Vs an athletic Norway...? Anyomi left the field injured while playing in Frankfurt's last game, so did her absence Vs Slovenia confirm her unlikely to face Norway too..?
Like I said... the u19's aren't a good team. Filled with some talented players for the future, the football they play under Behringer is genuinely horrible lol. And today they just lost to Sweden 0-1, making me even more annoyed to see Wrede being forced to waste her time within an age group she will learn absolutely NOTHING. This u19 side will be lucky to even make the Euro's. Which is why I maintain sending Wrede to the u23's is where she's needed most; as this is where the senior wnt coaches will learn very quickly what she can provide their mid-field...

Germany's last 3 home games have honestly seen very impressive performances. The only negatives being a inability to convert clear chances. So we'll see how things continue to develop away from home, but I have to give Wück some credit, as it might have taken longer than it should, but it appears he's starting to establish a clear style of football... Questions hovering over the starting GK, starting CB's, the first choice striker, and the composition of the mid-fielders. But post Euro's, Wück's 4-3-3 is definitely becoming clearer, and more effective too. Vs France, Spain, and now Slovenia, these home performances have all included Germany being compact, which has seen them become more dynamic as they generate chances, while even showcasing some signs of intergrating a successful counter press posture too. Vs Slovenia, Wück's Germany would even remain highly functional without Bühl aka one of Europes best players, and Brand being on the field...
0-1 victory... Norway actually appeared to dominate Austria, but struggled to break down a stubborn low block. So I don't believe there's much to take away from their opening match day win. But it's pretty obvious the offensive threat Germany will face Vs Norway goes up significantly compared to what they saw Vs Slovenia... The Graham Hansen Vs Kett match up likely to be very important. With the reality we see a Euro's Knaak - Minge CB partnership returning always a concerning element too lol. Wück should also retain faith in Endemann starting on the left/right, as I feel like she could cause huge problems for Norway's other Hansen to try and contain. Until we see new names, or certain key players return, the CM trio for Germany will never not be a weak element to this team.... Making the nature of the mid-field battle Vs Norway a huge unkown factor. However... if these same players found a way to keep talented Spainish and French mid-fielders under control, I guess they should be able to do something similar Vs Norway... Cerci and Anyomi both injured, Schüller's 2nd half efforts felt like a timely reminder of why form is tempory, yet talent remains permanent... All the wasted crosses Gwinn and Brand kept putting into the box without a German forward capable of being in the right place at the right time... it felt very obvious what was missing once Schüller entered the match.
Asked about her future with this team, Beger just said why would she stop when she's at the top... I know Berger survived a genuinely scary time dealing with major health concerns. But I'm a significant enough gap between her and Mahmutovic to justify Berger being the wnt's uncontested #1 GK...
The u17's just managed to top their Euro's qualification group with a 1-1 draw Vs Denmark... They are now one of the first nations to qualify for the finals, and accomplished this with a coach I didn't even believe capable of wining a single game during the 2nd round group stage lol. Results like this always has me wonder what Germany could really do at youth level if the wnt program actually had competent leadership lol. Even if it's outside of WC qualification year, this becomes a very important accomplishment for a tactically underwhelming Loderer.
Germany - Belgium U-23 4:2(1:1) Weidauer(12), Birkholz(54,80,90+2) - Helsen(31p), Bosteels(59) Italy - Germany U-19 0:1(0:1) Schick(36)
Wrede is just wasting time being forced to participate within another low quality Behringer coached youth wnt... Yes...there's u19 talent like Maas, and Zähringer, who both look to be possessing the potential to be legit senior level CB prospects in the future. But I've never seen a prospect of Wrede's quality being forced to participate in u19 football, and the process of u19 tournament qualifying... In years past, all the elite u19 talents would just move into the senior team, only to rejoin the u20's once it came time to play in the WC. In some extreme cases like Brand, we'd even see her go directly from a u17's Euro's winner, to moving directly into the senior team, never participating in a u19 Euro's, or u20 WC. But during a period of time the current wnt in desperate need of quality box to box CM's, we're watching one of Europe's best CM talents take part in u19 football... why? Surrounded with many team mates at u19 level who struggle to make the benches for their clubs, Wrede already one of the leagues top performers. And this gap in quality very visible on the field too. I hope the correct decision is made for the player, and Wrede moves up a level to join the u23's, or even better becomes a regular option for the senior wnt.
Wow... the u23's have slowly become a real mess lol. Squad selections continue to appear far too random, and it's started to negatively effect the ability of the players to perform together as an effective singular unit. The main positive Vs Belgium would have to be Birkholz coming to life once key substitutions entered the game. Plus, while I understand losing key players to the senior team would negatively impact overall team quality. I don't understand why the coach has needlessly sacrificed the prior positional balance he established. I mean... Baum at left back lol. This not only becoming another failed FB experiment, but a FB experiment that didn't even need to occur when the coach has Mickenhagen existing in the squad... Stoldt at CB. I.Acikgöz who barely sees any playing time at club level, yet again starting as a CM. Weidauer playing as a CAM... lol why is this happening...? In just 10 mins as a 2nd half sub, you could see Bartz produce more progressive passes than anything witnessed with Weidauer (a striker), or I.Acikgöz in mid-field. So... what is the true purpose of the u23's this season...? Because Vs multiple opponents, team selection has appeared to be about anything but good performances, or actually winning games...
Was Wrede #8 in the u19 match? If so she definitely got some speed & obviously best player on the field, but she only came in the 2nd half when Germany had the lead already was this game played in Italy? The background scenery made it look more like Spain
La Nucia, Spain. Lotta Wrede has No 8. Player numbers https://datencenter.dfb.de/datencen...eltag/italien-u-19-deutschland-u-19-w-2415282
Thanks, looks like Wrede did play n the first half. Whatever happened to Freiburg’s Maj Schneider?—-I thought she was part of this as well
just watched England completely obliterate Iceland in total shots taken(30-1) in their 2-0 win. Figure I’ll mention this because the Bundesliga seems to loved these days Icelanders as much as they do Austrians, Swiss Dutch & Poles(or else how can you explain why so many keep getting hired?) England playing a nice free flowing game, as able to stay up or be even faster with the Scandinavians, and weren’t too shy about pulling the trigger either.Hopefully Germany can do the same today! The game should be on the German Football YouTube channel
looks like Brand back to midfield, only change in the starting lineup is Anyomi for Dallmann I take it that Dallmann can’t handle the speed of the Norwegians
