Herzog - Calligaris, Maritz, Stierli - Beney, Sow, Riesen, Vallotto, Schertenleib - Lehmann, Crnogorcevic
Watching currently Poland leading Austria 1-0 70 th minute, Poland beaten them by going very direct as compared to Austria’s more slowed down more deliberate passing approach. Twenty minutes more till we see which style wins
Take this be this will be the configuration Buhl…. Schuller…….Cerci …………Dallmann ……….Nusken …………Senss Linder..Minge..Hendrich..Gwinn ……….Winkler dunno if Cerci’s quick enough for winger, but then, probably an smokescreen to bring Gwinn up forward
Germany leading at HT 1-0 thanks to a near post headed Nüsken goal from a Bühl corner. But same as it was Vs Australia, Germany's big problem continues to be the double 6 based system, and some strange team selection...
Cerci being deployed wide right within a front 3 predictably hasn't resulted in any success. This being another highly confusing decision from Wück, knowing he did in fact bring two wide forwards/wingers with him (Zicai, Endemann) but chose to leave both on the bench... I'd hope to see some smart substitutions this time, that actually help the balance of the team during the second half. But right now, following the Australia match the biggest issue with this team is the inability to progress the ball through mid-field efficiently with speed. In my opinion this being resolved with a switch towards using a lone DM pivot instead of the double 6. Thankfully Senß is holding things together... but it's very obvious to me it's here where the team requires the most adjustments.
Bühl comes out, but Freigang comes in.... Oh well, lol. Lets hope Freigang doesn't continue her fraudulent nature, and can actually step up to a higher level for once....
Freigang... Germany win FT 0-6, seeing a far better 2nd half display featuring a higher tempo of ball/player movement.
Oh yes... I was paying close attention to Freigang lol, and felt relieved to see her be more than hype, finally contributing towards the teams success in legitimately relevant ways. Positionally correct, good off ball movement, positive decision making, and solid end product, it all coming together for Freigang during an overall better team display, where I'm left hoping this not a one time deal, and we only get to see more of this from Freigang in a wnt jersey.
Looking at Sehitler.... I think it's fair to say just like we all knew, she's 100% a senior level talent... But what I found slightly frustrating watching her display, is knowing she's an elite youth talent who's come into this team also looking like a better option than Nüsken when it comes to being a legitimate replacement for Däbritz... Touch, control, and general in game IQ, Sehitler's short time on the field in my opinion seeing her looking to be a physically bigger version of Däbritz...; and with Gräwe looking more comfortable, and Lohmann to return, this just becomes another reason why Germany don't need Nüsken to be a starter anymore...
Rafaela Borggräfe replaces Stina Johannes (muscular problems). I found one full game vid on YT but only started at the 24th minute, watched till halftime then tried to come back to it. & couldn’t find it again. playing at home, I’m surprised the Swiss were bunkering so early on, but only then I noticed they had Pia as coach so figures, lol got to love the team that’s out there-I mean I’ve been told previously by Batfink that Dallmann’s career was over, that there’s no way ever Minge was going to be on the NT and his daily insults against Freiging are legendary—-to go along that I have no iota about German soccer—-so SURPRISE SURPRISE- pretty everything proved to be wrong, lol
