LOL... Germany's mid-field balance is absolute garbage.

The team is basically a 4-4-2 with Anyomi and Cerci on the field at the same time. But wow... within a double 6 I think Gräwe has looked like a complete imposter for 45 mins, while Nüsken reminds everyone once again of her own limitations as a CM...

Both CB are trying to (force) pass the ball into zones the CM's should be taking responsibility for, as Cerci in a CAM role is a non-existent entity too, seeing her most significant contribution to the mid-field so far coming through her losing possession in the sequence leading to Australia's equaliser.

At HT Wück needs to bring on someone like Magull, or Dallmann, to take over the CAM role. And honestly... if Gräwe isn't going to used as a the teams DM pivot, I'd take her off too... but would honestly prefer to see Senß take over for Nüsken.

 

The speed of play is SLOW.... with everything looking far too similar to the Olympic team, where the wide forwards aren't receiving the ball early enough, needing to beat multiple defenders to be effective.

Like the Olympics Minge - Linder also have ZERO protection from the mid-field, which is honestly strange knowing they have Gräwe in this team currently #1 for the leagues most successful mid-fielder for tackles..

I speculated if Wück got lucky with injury/sickness changing his formation/selection Vs England..., and so far seeing today's game doesn't look great in helping any argument he knew exactly what he was doing with Senß, and Dallmann.

But we'll see what happens in the second half now, as he's made subs, and has no real excuses for a repeat of the first half.

Magull and Kleinherne for Gräwe and Minge

 

Ughhhh.... Wück, still has Cerci in the CAM role, and is using Magull as a CM lol.

Nüsken is bad doing anything in her own half too, but I've seen Magull be surprisingly competent DM Pivot, so.... who knows how this will go.

But again, after seeing this team with a genuine mid-field Vs England, today seems like a major backwards step for something that should have been pretty simple to improve in future.

 

Wolter, Brand and Dallmann for Gwinn, Bühl and Cerci.

 

Seeing Germany trying to play through Nüsken is so frustrating lol. Plus it's sooooo obvious this teams attack is struggling to function correctly without a CAM, I don't know why Wück hasn't replaced Cerci, or at least swapped her and Anyomi.

Using Gräwe incorrectly is one thing... but waiting so long to correct the mid-field issues seems pretty dumb.

 

Already 20 minutes in second half and nothing dangerous.

LOL... someone needs to explain to me what the hell the CB's are doing right now. I keep seeing Nüsken at CB, with Linder or Kleinherne nowhere to be seen...

Yeah.. this game is horrible lol. Wück has made some major tactical/selection errors, but Australia aren't even sitting in a bunker shape, and it's having Germany completely confused what to do.

 

So, in the end, her injury in Champion's Ĺeague wasn't bad enough to deny her her last NT game.

Or did she play 15 mins anyway through an half-injury?
