Bühl's face after one of Zambia's pink elephants tried to kill her lol... And then Schüller hits the post on the corner, while Zambia go down to Germany's end of the field and miss a clear opportunity to make it 3-2.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO... Freigang at #9 is truly underwhelming, but at least she's #9, and not the 2nd forward this time
Germany's passing and movement is so bad, it's like they don't know each other sometimes... And as expected Freigang isn't going to be close to the quality of Schüller, making it hard to guess how this team looks offensively for the final 20 mins.
Anyomi was left out of this team, so Freigang could continue stinking up everything she touches... This team can't retain good possession of the ball, meaning they HAVE to take their chances or risk Zambia coming back into the match. And with Freigang (and Endemann) on the field, it's hard to see this happening.
The passing from this team is shocking.... So many bad passes. I want to see these player do better, but some of these individual performances are so low quality... A game any good team would be able to control through possession, Germany are forced to keep making bad attacking movements hoping to score more than they concede. I watch other top wnt's play, and sometimes can't believe how bad Germany are comparatively.
The fact the wnt coaches don't trust Senß to be this teams replacement for Oberdorf is so annoying. Again Germany have been a mess today, and even with the few positives, I feel like absolutely nothing learned in how to make this team more effective.
Well done Senß... 4-1. They finally got the 2 extra goals, and Senß score her first wnt goal with a great volley.
4-1 FT That was a very awkward match for Germany, that they managed to navigate well with some clear issues on display.

yes it was a tough and awkward display but they got the job done regardless of how tough it was.. this will be a good boost heading into QF.
POTM for me was Solano, who'd come into this match as a replacement for Hegering, providing a very solid display keeping the pink elephant relatively quiet. Nüsken would have her best game so far too, being the most prominent presence within Germany's mid-field over the 3 group games. We'd also get to see a few moments where Bühl would resemble something close to the goal threat should be in a wnt jersey. And overall, with the 1st half seeing Germany playing so slow, it was honestly much better in the 2nd half seeing the team try to maintain a higher tempo... even if this came at the cost of intelligent game management.

Accurate passing and remaining compact the biggest problems with Germany right now. The 2nd half Vs Zambia felt like this team was still trying to learn how to play with each other, which is slightly concerning lol. Endemann's positioning was better than Brand, but her end product was poor. With Bühl's positioning being higher, allowing her to become more effective too. It clear Hrubesch moved Popp deeper, meaning Germany were often floating between a 4-2-3-1 and a 4-3-3 for large stages of this game. Making you wonder if he'll finally start like this in the next match... Bühl ----------------------- Schüller ------------------------ Huth ---------- Popp (CM) ----------------- Nüsken (CM) ----------- Linder -------------------- Minge (DM) ------------------ Gwinn ------------- Solano ------------------------- Hendrich ------------ Solano's passing better down the left than what it was for her in this team during Euro qualification, she'd actually help Minge not needing to progress the ball from deep. Popp in CM still isn't great, but we'd see a slight improvement with her being moved back to join Nüsken as a box to box CM. I still fell like Senß not being used as a DM pivot isn't a smart decision. But if Germany can get 3 bodies in some form of a balanced mid-field trio, maybe.... just maybe we can see this team get a surprise semi final place...
