Tuchel is through to final after trashing Nagelsmann 3-0. Now 1st ever PSG coach to make CL final!!! let's hope Flick follows him to final for all German final warfare!
drum rolls, Flick trashes Lyon 3-0 to go through CL Final. Tuchel vs Flick. Who will WIN his 1st CL trophy as coach??? And Joins Klopp as 2nd consecutive German coach to win it??? funny Flick reaches CL final while Pep at Bayern NEVER did. and Flick had to save a sinking ship when he became interim coach as well back in Fall.
After the heartbreaks of 2016, 2017 and 2018, Bayern are finally back in the Champions League final, something they haven’t done since Heynckes’ side won the treble in 2013. This is a historic night for Flick and the team, even if greater challenges lay ahead.— Bavarian Tweets (@BavarianTweets) August 19, 2020 funny part is that Flick is always compared to Jupp, lol.
As much as I hate Bayern I'd much rather have Flick win over Tuchel. Tuchel is nothing but a Pep worshiper. BTW, if Bayern win Flick would become the first German coach to win a World Cup and a Champions League.
And Flick follows Klopp to win CL winning 1-0!!! Treble in his 1st season as Bayern coach and 1st ever season playing high level.

Jupp Heynckes had recommended Hansi Flick's promotion into head coach after Niko Kovač was sacked. Before the game v BVB, Heynckes calmed down the nervous Flick on the phone: “Don't worry. You'll win 3-0 or 4-0. I know my Bayern" Bayern won 4-0 & it was the start[Bild] pic.twitter.com/Is8anuU0CO— Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) August 24, 2020
Ottmar Hitzfeld: Hansi Flick and Bayern Munich can replicate 1970s dominance https://www.bundesliga.com/en/bunde...unich-s-1970s-dominance-ottmar-hitzfeld-12617
The sophomore year could be the hardest. Initially there will be excitement with a new coach, enthusiasm from the team, hype from the media. Hopefully he will be able to replicate his success in the next year.
I think one difference is that Jupp handed a golden hand only for Pep to waste it. This time there is coaching consistency in following seasons.
You guys are so lucky Koeman didnot take the Barcelona offer some months ago, when Schmidt was available. About 2.5 years ago iirc Schmidt was offered the job, but declined then. I doubt he would have refused again if he was offered it again this year. Just imagine his Klopp/Flick like playing philosophy with the Orange selection at hand. It would be other national team coaches nightmare
I dunno he's okay. Good for clubs like Leverkusen and Salzburg. But not Barca level as he never elevated his career like Klopp and such. Hope he can take PSV to a title race though.

Gonna be a lot more challenging for Klopp's Liverpool to repeat the EPL title this season. They look lackadaisical today vs Leeds, and their lack of depth is going to be tested throughout the campaign. Other clubs around them have strengthened too.
I said it several times to my Liverpool's fans friends. I know few of them. Klopp during BVB tenure destroying their opponent left and right and managed to get back to back bundesliga trophy even eclipsing Bayern. Then on the following one/two? seasons after their second bundesliga win, opponents already familiar with his high pressing style and figure out how to overcome it. Not to mention it take tolls on his players physically. Liverpool might be the strongest candidate to win the EPL again this season but it won't be as easy as last season. And for the following seasons be prepared for the regressed result as in Klopp BVB era
The H2H matches against other Top clubs in EPL are going to be tougher for sure. I expect the gap between Liverpool and Man City to be much closer this season. Wouldn't be surprised if Chelsea causes some disruption in the title race too as they've invested quite a bit including the new additional German contingent with Werner and Havertz. To a lesser degree there's also United, Arsenal, and Tottenham in the midst, as well as other teams like Leicester, Everton, Wolves, etc who could make it tough along the way to accumulate points. Liverpool's roster looks too midfield heavy. Their attacking option outside of Salah, Mane, and Firmino are limited, so they'd be screwed if any of them get injured. Firmino has shown signs that he's not necessarily of the elite level. They also pretty much rely of Van Dijk as the aerial presence on set pieces as they don't have a true fully integrated centre forward striker.

Tuchel begins the season with PSG losing to Marseille, they also lost 3 players to red cards including Neymar. Knowing that PSG is a coaching carousel type club, tbh I wouldn't be surprised if he gets sacked if they don't win the CL. Curious if another club gets close to challenging them for the Ligue 1 title too. The squad isn't as good as they used to be from past few seasons.
