I am excited about the Dawgs, but it won't mean anything if we can't beat the Vols and the Gators. Still would have been nice if Tulane didn't wimp out of this weeks game, it would have been at least more of a challenge than Northwestern State was.

    Northwestern State?

    Northwest of what?

    Which state?

Only 45 points against that stellar defense?

Really, don't get angry with me for not laying down and allowing the mighty bulldogs to scare me one bit.

We are so sad because our team was overhyped before we played anyone worth a good goddamn.

We spell it dawg by the way, because we are big southern dummies but we did produce REM nearabouts...

Northwestern State of Louisiana. From what I have read of the game, the first half wasn't even close and the dawgs were called off in the second half. Unlike a certain ex-Florida coach, we aren't given to needlessly running up the score.

Hey, he only did that against Yew Tee. He couldn't run it up against Georgia- they have more heart than the Vols. The question is, can the Gators win without Coach Superior?

Dawgs haven't proved jack-shite yet. They could be good, but I don't think they come close to being elite yet.

As a GA native, it really pisses me off that both big programs in the state underachieve so much. With all the talent coming out of this state, there is no excuse for GA to be behind a state like Oregon in terms of football success. UGA has the talent, using it will be the big challenge.

As for GT, I know they have academic restrictions, but with their tradition and location, they should challenge for the ACC every year, but instead are being passed by NC St. and Maryland in terms of national respect.

It's a shame, by the way, that Tony Hollings is out for the year for them. If he had played all year, he was on pace to score about 30 TD's and rush for 1600 yards...would have been a definite Heisman candidate. A.J. Suggs sucks by the way, I heard the "Bilbo/boo birds" very early on in that BYU game. Wasn't sure if it was the football fans, or some of their Chemistry nerds screaming for Bilbo Baggins.

    UGA is cool.

I don't really care about the University of Georgia either way but, UGA is cool.

THis will be a test to see if UGA will be a contender or not. UK gave Florida a pretty tough test. Though UF beat UT, I am not convinced that they are the class of the division. Seems pretty wide open right now.

    1. Why do you object to that certain ex-Florida coach using garbage time to give his backups some playing time? If one of his starters gets hurt, aren't these the kids that have to come in and execute the offense?

    2. How is it fair to ask those same backups to go into a game and NOT try and score? Don't those kids work hard in practice? Don't they deserve a chance to go in to a live game and make some plays?
Short memories for Dawg fans, huh? Let me remind you:

    Steve Spurrier vs. Georgia:

    1990 - Florida 38, Georgia 7
    1991 - Florida 45, Georgia 13
    1992 - Florida 26, Georgia 24
    1993 - Florida 33, Georgia 26
    1994 - Florida 52, Georgia 14
    1995 - Florida 52, Georgia 17
    1996 - Florida 47, Georgia 7
1997 - Fluke of all flukes.
    1998 - Florida 38, Georgia 7
    1999 - Florida 30, Georgia 14
    2000 - Florida 34, Georgia 23
    2001 - Florida 24, Georgia 10
Did you see the game? Florida looked like Florida in every phase of the game, except for special teams, and we'll get that worked out. Since Spurrier left, the Vols and Puppies have been mouthing off about how the Gators are dead. Hasn't happened. We shut the Vols up last week, and believe me, we've got November 2nd circled on our calendars.

You have mistaken an Athens resident (and a recent one at that) for a Dawgs fan. I'm a USC (the real one, in L.A.) fan. Read my SEC related posts. I have questioned UF because it appeared that BC was going to do as well v. Miami as they did. But the Gators are my favorite SEC team, precisely because Spurrier came in and stirred the drink, a la Reggie Jackson and Ali. I sometimes think he had Ali in mind when he did those pre- Yew Tee press conferences. It used to get on my nerves when Bryant did this poor-mouthing thing in the 70's before blowing out Vanderbilt or some other minnow early in the season. Other SEC coaches parroted his act, without the same results (covering their asses under the guise of sportsmanship. At least Bear won) until Spurrier got there. IMNSHO, Coach Superior singlehandedly increased the stature of SEC rivalries and the pay of SEC coaches, and made SEC ball the center of attention on ESPN- simply by stepping to the mic. Look at the 80s (one NC- Georgia) versus the 90s (3 NCs and the '95 title game, but no one would have beaten Nebraska). Everyone stepped up. No, I'm not a Florida alum. I just appreciated the constant controversy.

Like Mike already said, Florida beat UK pretty soundly in every facet of the game expect for special teams. Our Horrid special teams kept them in the game, nothing else.

    Let's crash this UGA thread......

    What do you get??

    41-16!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :p

Seriously, I believe the Gators will improve...eventually. Now is Zook a quality recruiter?? 'Cause that's what it pretty much boils down to. I'm wondering the same about Coker 'cause he's been winning with Butch's kids. Last season was his first full season recruiting as head coach. Time will tell.

All signs point to Zook being a fantastic recruiter. I'm looking forward to what he can do recruiting the next couple of years. He's gonna fight hard for the south Florida kids and not just let you have them all like Spurrier used to.......

    yeah, we'll see

    Two bits, four bits....
