Defending NCAA Champs couldn't get by Seton Hall in BE final but perhaps it shouldn't have been a surprise given their loss of Sr. talent:

Additionally Sean O'Hearn signed a USL contract in the fall of 2020 when the season was canceled.

This entire season deserves a huge asterisk next to it for every team.

Unless you're team wins it all, of course.

So the winner needs to add 2 stars to their gear?

I said it before on another thread. Georgetown could have been historically great this year without covid.

Any insiders know if the players like their coach? From the outside, Wiese seems like he coaches them up and they grow under his leadership.

    Thoughts?

I have a friend whose kid got recruited by Georgetown and spoke glowingly of Wiese.

I mean, he's from the Bobby Clark tree so I'd be surprised if he wasn't as gracious and player-first as Bobby was.

Utmost respect for Brian. He is his players best advocate, tactically astute and a quality individual. I talk to many coaches and he is top-notch. If anything he will not say anything critical about his team or coaches, instead he'll spin it.

There are certain guys in college soccer that if someone is bad-mouthing them then there is something wrong with the person doing the bad-mouthing. Brian is one of those guys.

Rip roarin' game between the Hoyas and Bluejays in Omaha last Saturday in front of an electric 6,500 fans. Hoyas controlled the 1st half, Jays the 2nd. Hoyas scored in the 49' and 90', Jays in the 89' on a PK that was deserved and they probably should have been awarded two more. Jays are just 1-3-1 but have now stood toe-to-toe with Indiana and Georgetown, and with an RPI of 23 cannot yet be counted out of the postseason picture. Georgetown survived a humid, crowded environment and notched three standings points like the champion they are.

No. Winner needs to add a star and a huge asterisk. Pay attention.

Just saw this announcement, which may be of interest to some here ...

"The BIG EAST Conference has announced the signing of a three-year deal to play the league's men's and women's soccer championships at Maryland SoccerPlex beginning this fall.

The facility, located in Boyds, Md., about 30 miles north of Washington, will host semifinals and championship matches for both the men's and women's soccer championships. Opening round matches will still be played at the higher seed's home stadium."

Good for Georgetown, St. John's and Villanova. Not so good for DePaul, Marquette, Butler and Creighton.
