Sadly, every one of these Gentlemen are no longer with us.. Denis Law, the legendary striker of the Scottish national team and winner of the Ballon d'Or (year 1964), died at the age of 84.\n He played for both Manchester clubs, but is best remembered for his appearances for United. He played 406 matches for the Red Devils, in which he scored 237 goals. He won two English championships and the first European Cup with this club. Here is picture of Dennis Law, Sir Bobby Charlton and George Best. All three footballers are depicted on the famous "United Trinity" statue in front of Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester. And sadly, none of them are with us anymore. They are all late now. The last of them , Dennis Law, bows out yesterday at the age of 84. The ICONS of the Stretford end. They are the only trio in world football that won Balon d'or while playing in the same team. (The Holy Trinity) George Best Sir Bobby Charlton Dennis Law RIP , UTD legends.
MISL Memories: Billy Ronson (pictured below alongside George Best) dipped his toe into North American soccer when he joined the Fort Lauderdale Strikers on loan for the 1978 NASL season, but it would be another 7 years before he'd return and make a lasting impact. Born on 22 January 1957, Ronson (pictured at left), was a hardworking 5-foot-4 midfielder for clubs like Blackpool (1974-79), Cardiff City (1979-81) and Barnsley (1982-86), then he jumped to the MISL's Baltimore Blast in 1985 and went on to score 112 goals in 280 games over the next 7 seasons, leading the Blast to back-to-back MISL finals appearances in 1989-90. Ronson played in the 1991 MISL All Star Game and was elected to the Baltimore Blast Hall of Fame in 2009. Sadly, Ronson died of natural causes in 2015 at the age of 58.
You sure devote a lot of ink to a guy who's been dead 20 years and played a total of 56 games for the Quakes.
He has actually only been dead 19 years but that is beside the point. George Best was the one of the greatest players in the world. He most certainly was the greatest player ever to play in San Jose and wear an Earthquakes uniform.
