Why the hell wouldn't Roma allow them to use their name? Seems like a silly thing to do because I can't imagine some other video game company is going to pay Roma a significant amount.
It must be because PES is giving them more money for exclusive rights. Juve did the same thing a few years ago. I seriously doubt it's enough money to justify limiting your exposure.
Ok, I don't play video games so I might be asking a dumb question. I have heard of EA sports but who the hell is PES? I thought EA sports was the only game in town.
In the U.S., FIFA basically is the only game in town. PES is around but not nearly as popular. PES is made by Konami. It's bigger in Europe and Japan.
FIFA is a shitty game anyway. Every year you pay money for a copy basically. Nothing new, barely any changes. Don't waste your money.
I used to love playing Fifa growing up. I remember I had Fifa 2000 on the PC and that was my first fifa game. I'm in my early thirties now and couldnt give a ******** about video games. I play them once every while but the latest console I ever had was PS3. Video games are for fags
FIFA is the more popular one, PES is for console lovers and football fanatics. I don't keep much with either in the last 3-4 years, but here in my part of Europe it is widely considered that PES is closer to the how a real football match feels and develops, i.e. it's more realistic when played by decent players. That being said... both games are just updated versions of the same shit they were producing 10 years ago. PES is far less predatory, though. EA are greedy bastards in the best of days. Anyways... I don't know how much money PES are giving Jimmy, but not having the brand name or players names in FIFA would be disastrous for our exposure. It really shows the state of the club's finances that we're ready to sacrifice long-term gains for short term rewards. Jimmy has checked off anything Roma-related it seems. EDIT: The only football game that's still worh playing IMO is Football Manager. Although they've totally ruined it by adding 1 000 new gimmicks like agent fees and stuff, when you're actually doing BJs for the agent in order to sign the player.
I haven’t met a person who owned PES in the last 15 years. It might be more popular in Europe than in the US, but no one plays PES in Europe either. FIFA is a crap game though and the only reason anyone plays it is because if you got PES you’d have no one to play with.
PES jumped the shark when they tried to do their FUT equivalent. And I think their staff is much smaller and too overwhelmed to make significant gameplay improvements on a large scale with the current gen graphics. So one year they'll have amazing realistic passing and ball physics, but have completely broken defending, goalkeeping. The last PES I bought had this emphasis on weather, and defenders would make these ridiculous ten yard sliding tackles if it was raining.
I'm looking forward to the future. This group of us here on BS have been through three ownerships now, and it's really glad to see progress. Hoping for the best.
Who? I’d say we are a pretty good group, and have been here for a long time. Roma is different, we have a functioning team page.
Yes unfortunately for Roma he is. Being a hometown poster boy with some nice technical skills but he's as useful as a chocolate teapot. As long as he holds the am spot this team will continue to do zero. Lacks the fight to be a top player and I dont see him ever getting that in his game. People who watch Roma consistently see it.
Not sure if it belongs here or not but the Domenica Sportiva is speculating on a rumor that Fonseca may be out for Allegri at Roma!
