Monaco would be great for him.

St. Etienne would be a pretty good destination. They just sold their best striker to archrivals Lyon, so he could get some PT there. Perin is a pretty good coach and it is arguably the most storied team in France, even if they've down for a while.

I would love this move for Jozy. He would be a perfect replacement for Gomis and could end up thriving at St. Etienne as well as on a long-term transfer there. I think the style of the league is perfect for him as it requires both speed and technical ability...things that I think Jozy needs to improve on. In terms of upside, I see Jozy as a better player than Gomis, but Jozy has to improve his work rate, his timing of runs, his iffy first-touch, as well as further improving his body positioning. I think Ligue 1 will accelerate these areas of his game further than almost any other league (with only the Netherlands coming to mind as competition to that statement). Here's hoping that this deal can work out.

France would be a good move for his career, but bad move for his pocketbook. His effective withholding/tax rate will go from 24% (for foreign player) in Spain to 55% +/- in France @ the same salary of €900k/yr...

True, but with so much more money to be made later in his career, I think it'd be wise to take the paycut to become twice the player. In other words go down a little to become a lot greater, rather than find a happy realm of complacency...like, well... Adu . And with that, adieu!

It seems Malaga is discarding Altidore since he´s too expensive.

From what I have read ....Villarreal are looking to be paid €500-600K for the season loan + to cover his salary of €900k/yr

@ €1.5m / yr ...Jozy may be too expensive for Malaga..

Looks like France or Greece for Jozy, unless an EPL team steps up......

There's somebody over at the Adu thread that's talking about tax withholding rates too. Is Bigsoccer being invaded by tax attorneys prospecting for clients?

France, Holland or Greece are good destinations as he could work on improving technically and then possibly return to Spain next year sometime. If he goes to England, I doubt he will return to Spain at all. In a couple of years if he moves to the EPL, if it is still the big money league, he'll be in a position to walk right into the line up of a big time club. But for now I hope he gets as much polish to his game as possible.

Facts are ........players and their agents (who care) do consider witholding/tax when making transfers and I was just pointing it out.......

If you think it doesn't come into professional players consideration, then
you are being naive about it.

Per Mediterraneo: By end of this week Villarreal expects to close on the transfer (on a temp or prem) of Jozy(FW) and Ruben(FW) to another club.

Well if he really does know where he's going, good. At least he [and his agent + Villarreal] are working to insure that he continues to progress in his career.

I'm with you on this, I think Malaga would be a great destination; however, the rumors seem to be pointing toward St Etienne at the moment.

I would have liked Malaga too, but hey St. Etienne is great too. Afterall I know Charlie would love to have Jozy in the same league so that he could take the crown:D

Then he responds to someone asking him where he's going:
"cmon if i told u it wouldnt be a surprise! lol"

Not that I don't find re-posting tweets incredibly lame but I would say it's probably not a trip to Aruba he wants to surprise us with...
