What do people think about the idea of a world cup every 2 years. I think it's just another money making scheme bu fifa.

I am currently doing a tour of all footy grounds across the country and maybe Europe at some point reviewing and providing some useful tips for future attendee's here's one of my reviews for non league trip to Telford.
The full draw Just a reminder of the full play-off draw, with the semi-finals and final being played days apart in March 2022. Full semi-final draw Scotland v Ukraine Wales v Austria Russia v Poland Sweden v Czech Republic Portugal v Turkey Italy v North Macedonia Final draw Wales or Austria v Scotland or Ukraine Russia v Poland v Sweden or Czech Republic Portugal or Turkey v Italy or North Macedonia Semi-finals due to be played 24 March, the final on the 29 March.
One of Italy or Portugal won’t qualify for the World Cup but on a plus note, one of Wales or Scotland won’t be going either. Hopefully neither if I’m honest.
Austria have been awful lately. Not sure they will have enough time to turn it around. Ukraine are a dangerous team in that section. Scotland and Wales should both fancy their chances though. I would probably go Ukraine, Sweden and Italy.
Turkey were rubbish at the Euro’s but imagine the shock if they can get past both Italy and Portugal. Feels unlikely but you never know.
I would prefer to wish Wales and Scotland well but the behaviour of their fans with regard to England kinda makes that impossible.
Every chance there will be more English born players on the pitch than Welsh or Scottish if they meet. I’m sure they won’t say anything if Leicestershire’s Che Adams or Devons Keifer Moore get them to World Cup!
So, Poland has now stated that they won’t play their upcoming playoff match with Russia and totally understandable. FIFA have to take Russia out of the equation and kick them out as they can’t get a bye surely? It will be interesting to see what Infantino does as he seems to be pals with Putin and FIFA have been very slow to react!
I suspect they won’t do anything until other countries threaten to withdraw from the World Cup and teams from the CL and EL. Unfortunately FIFA’s hands might be tied because Russia would go to CAS if they were expelled and who knows what they would decide.
It is interesting how we choose when to be ethical and when not to be. If we truly cared about innocent loss of life, why would we want to take part in a Qatar World Cup in the first place?
There has been calls to Boycott Qatar. By many people. Even a relative of one of the England players endorsed Tom Daley’s call for sporting events to not be held in places with bad human rights records.
Going by some of the statements of the Polish Players it sounds like they expect that Russia will be given a bye to the final play off and that they hope Sweden and Czech Republic will join them in boycotting that match. I hoesntly think it end up with CAS deciding the outcome. And they don’t always listen to common sense. God knows what happens if CAS declare that Russia should automatically qualify due to Poland, Sweden and Czech Republic refusing to play them.
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...russia-world-cup-play-off-pile-huge-pressure/ This might only succeed if the FA threaten to withdraw if Russia is not suspended.
Sweden has joined the boycott. The BBC are reporting that International Paralympic Committee (Whose leadership detest Russia for their state run doping and successfully banned them from the 2016 summer games) believe that if they expelled Russia from the Paralympics Games, Russia would go to CAS and would win reinstatement. I suspect FIFA and UEFA suspect the same. Could get very messy. Not impossible FIFA might have to cancel the World Cup because they unable to ban Russia from it.
I suspect that FIFA might not have a choice but to cancel if there’s a mass boycott from Nations participating in the World Cup if Russia make it.
