The reasons that they're stating will get them nowhere. There's a clear precedent for teams being restored to cup competitions after the team they lost to is expelled.
What they should be focusing on is the uncertainty that they had to prepare under.

Watching the championship play off final

It is beyond ridiculous that they use VAR for this match only.

I’m surprised the Championship accept using it here. Pretty much all the clubs are anti VAR.m

A real lack of CF quality in this final. Thought that a lot whilst watching Championship games this season.

Not every team can have the dynamic duo of Jordan Ayew and Patson Daka as their forward options

    Watching the DFB Pokal.

Completely different to the FA Cup Final in feel.

As far as I can tell, and maybe @GermanBlade can confirm, there are no other matches on in Germany today. Even the Regionaligas last match is next weekend

Much more sensible way to do it. I paid no attention the the Cup Final this year

That’s the benefit of being a 34 game rather than a 38 game season and only having 1 cup. To end the PL league last week would have required the league risking having no time to fit in rearranged matches if something caused a postponement to PL matches involving European teams going deep. The expansion of Europe, the ending of playing 48 hours apart over Christmas and the ending of the FA cup having an all midweek round has reduced the capacity in the league’s schedule.

All of the non-professional clubs had their cup finals today to confirm who'll be allowed to compete in the DFB-Pokal next season but as for all of the professional and semi-professional leagues like the Regionalligas they didn't play as you said. I think it's only possible because there are less teams in the Bundesliga and only one cup competition though.

Much obliged. Funnily enough just before I read this I saw something about the Saarsland final so realised it was probably final day.

I went to 3 Regionaliga matches over Easter weekend. Quite the experience at a couple of them

Social media is terrible for pitting English players against one another and trying to create rivalries but now we've got national broadcasters doing it with two teenagers before their careers have even properly started. Genuinely ridiculous that someone signed off on this. Lowest common denominator stuff.

Should be a card for the player blocking him off.

It’s TNT Sports. Their social media has long been controversial.

You might have a point there actually, I initially thought it was not during the game time

Not sure about that VAR decision in the League One play off final.

Absolutely idiotic to use it in only one match

Particularly for a promotion to a league that doesn’t use it either.

West Ham surely hold the points record for a team relegated 3 times from the PL. 39 and 42 plus a 33.

Think next season could be dicey for the PL to keep its 5 CL places.

Palace have 49 and 45 point relegations when there were 42 games a season, to go with a couple of 33 point seasons.
