I must say I didn’t expect Ipswich to come straight back up. I thought they would struggle this season in the Championship p.

They wouldn't have done in another year, it's been a desperately weak cohort this season. This Millwall side getting 83 points tells you all you need to know.

Coventry and Ipswich will drop straight back down unless they have Sunderland-esque transfer windows. I don't think there are more than two Premier League ready players across Coventry's and Ipswich's squads combined.

I could see Southampton if they got through the playoffs managing to finish above both of them.

Next season could be quite interesting in the Championship with Spurs or West Ham being expected to have the potential to be a 100 pointer (I don’t think either would - if West Ham go down it’s bound to the traditional playoffs at best.)

Yeah I think Southampton arguably have a little bit more to work with but they'd still need a monstrous window to stay up imo.

Anyone know what happened to that young promising kid at Southampton from earlier in the season? Think his surname is Robinson but don’t recall seeing him for some time.

Verbruggen must be so thankful to be playing in this era. Error prone, not great controlling his box, and average at best shot stopper but because he's decent on the ball he is highly rated, dutch number 1 and seemingly has the interest of a bunch of top teams.

New manager dropped him pretty much immediately then he picked up a quad injury not long after that kept him out for a couple of months. Hasn't been able to work his way back in with results and performances being so good.

Title race is surely going to the last day of the season unless West Ham or Spurs pick up a couple of big wins.

Goal difference now a lot more favourable to Spurs than West Ham, Going be a tight run in but I’m not confident of West Ham’s chances.

This whole Mokio situation is completely ridiculous. Is he really that set on playing for D.R. Congo considering he´d have to wait 3 years before he could represent them and hence would miss the WC or is it just pure antipathy towards his parents who want him to represent Belgium and with whom he seems to doesn´t get along at all right now at this point? I will only believe these rumours once anything is confirmed and think it might be hia agent fishing for his WC place with Belgium but if the rumours are true then Belgium will have some serious issues to address for their future when not only duals from other European nations and Moroccans are leaving their FA but also young players eligible for Congo like Sadiki (who could become a real loss considering the season he´s had with Sunderland) and possibly Mokio. Believe Latvia could also be eligible for Congo. Mika Godts was apparently trying to somehow gain Dutch citizenship too before accepting the call.up to their friendlies.

Just looked him up. He's been there 4 years and blaming it all on the players! Straight out Aidy Boothroyd play book.

He’s come out with a few strange statements in the past has Wellens, he seems to have an incredibly high opinion of his own management skills for a bloke that hasn’t coached above league one.

Bad look for the league for Villa to make that many changes and then play like this.

Maybe they need a maximum amount of changes allowed between matches - say 3 is the maximum.

Stipulations like that wouldn’t work because at the end of the day it is a squad game.

True but it does happen in some sports to preserve fairness.

Sodio Media is mainly targeting the League Cup and International football as the fixtures that need to go.

I hope Forest knock Villa out on Thursday. .

Meanwhile I think Liverpool is heading towards backing VAR being axed. Slot sounds like he hates it.

Because they rested players ahead of one of there most important games in decades? Spurs have more players out injured than Villa even rested.

Wasn’t just rested but appeared to not even try for much of the game.

Footballs not fair mate, not every match is as important to one team as another. When Spurs were in a title run in the Swansea manger literally said he preferred Leicester to win the league the day before playing them, and they got rolled 4 nil, absolutely no one gave a fucx.

Watford have sacked Ed Still, and are now looking to appoint their 24th manager in 15 years.
In contrast, West Ham had 8 managers over the entire 20th century and just 5 from 1901 to 1989.
