France looked to have got lucky with that late VAR call in their favour. Eidur Gudjohnsen’s sons both starting upfront for Iceland. Both born in London. Some guy born in Yorkshire scored five tonight too.
Cape Verde are on the brink of qualifying ahead of Cameroon! Senegal almost there. (And South Africa but they could be deducted points).
Bolivia have become the second team to make the Inter confederation playoffs just pipping Venezuela to the spot.
Just looking at Argentina's side ahead of the World Cup and they're really a team in flux now. From their 2022 winning team, Otamendi is now 37, Tagliafico is 33, Montiel is playing back in Argentina, De Paul is 31 and playing in MLS, Paredes is 31 and playing in Argentina, Di Maria has retired, and Messi is rumoured to be retiring before the World Cup too. That's quite a drastic change from their perspective, it'll be interesting to see how they handle it. They've got some very good young players coming through but it's hard to say if they'll be ready to handle the burden of World Cup contention yet.
I think they're the weakest team to win a world cup. They weren't exactly great in their run to winning it. They got some luck. I don't believe they've got any world class players other than maybe lautaro martinez. Even their keeper looks a year past his best
They're probably the weakest team to win it in my lifetime yeah. Although Messi was still arguably the best player in the world (along with Mbappe) at the time which makes a huge difference. The one thing I'd say is that they're much greater than the sum of their parts. We talk about Spain's cohesion and I think the same applies to this current Argentine team too. They're extremely well coached and in sync with one another. I don't think they'll win it next summer but they're still capable of knocking out any team in the tournament.

Not seen the tackle but Morton sent off for Lyon which my app described as it doesn’t belong on the football pitch but then again now it’s says it’s due to his behaviour so no idea why, lol
He was thinking stop the counter and take a yellow card. I'm glad the ref sent him off though, these cynical fouls ruin the games
Some academies have their own Cages. Liverpool for example. 1963520281944686860 is not a valid tweet id According to that report, annual running costs for Liverpool academy is around £11 million a year. Roughly what they got for Morton or about a third of the Leverkusen fee for another of their academy players, Quansah. There's another Athletic article about Crystal Palace academy and their budget is about half what Liverpool spend.
‘: Spain's Government has proposed that the national team might not go to the 2026 World Cup if Israel qualify. — @UHN_Plus’ Luckily for FIFA Israel are not likely to qualify. Because there is zero chance the USA ( would approve of Israel being banned .
EXCL: Tim Lewis leaves Arsenal in shock boardroom revamp. 62yo integral to #AFC rise but new-look hierarchy sees Richard Garlick become CEO + Josh Kroenke increasingly prominent, Ben Winston join & 3 more appointments including 2 from KSE (David Ornstein)
Not sure why there's any debate around the red card for Sanchez. Regardless of whether it's a goal scoring opportunity or not, it's a shocking foul.
