Nagelsmann on whether a Neuer comeback is a possibility after ter Stegen's injury: "In my mind I know that Marc will come back in December, then play the two [Germany] games in March, in June too, and then play in the World Cup. He's number 1 when fit. Manu played a very good Club World Cup, but we made the decision very consciously. As of now, there are no considerations that he comes back" [Sky] ‘Julian Nagelsmann tells @SkySportDE that Joshua Kimmich will return to midfield with the national team in the future‘ Germany could have a non club starting goalkeeper as their first choice will be unsual for a team aiming to win the World Cup.
Manchester United prioritising Benjamin Sesko if striker signed this summer. 22yo now preferred option for #MUFC + informal contact made with RB Leipzig. Slovenia int’l also remains top target for Newcastle United: #NUFC pursuit continues (David Ornstein)
I've only seen bits of Sesko but he very much seems like a raw project player, even if he does have qualities. Man United spending spending big money on another project striker after everything they've been through with Hojlund seems completely deranged to me. They finished 16th last season, they need players who can perform now. Sesko might work but the risk is absolutely massive.
He's certainly a better player than Hojlund when they bought him, but he's still clearly a work in progress. How many established strikers are there that are available at a reasonable price is the question - there's going to have to be a bit of a gamble unless you pay through the nose or get a veteran in.
Tbh I think £60m for Watkins would be worth it for United. I think it's reasonable to imagine Watkins can maintain his level for another two seasons, and with his excellent fitness record there's a good chance he brings you 15-19 goals in the league per season. 30-40 goals from one player across two seasons would be well worth £60m to United when you look at where they are now and how much money they've squandered for no return. I also think Mateta would be interesting for United. Cheaper option who isn't likely to score as many as Watkins but would work really well with Cunha and Mbeumo imo.

I think Isak has been badly advised. Newcastle don't need the money so Liverpool will have to pay through the nose for him and Liverpool never pay over the odds on players. So either he goes for stupid money or he doesn't go. Btw if I was Newcastle and they do sell Isak I'd go after Kane.
I think they were looking at gyokeres at one point and were looking to bring him in but that never materialised so now they have no striker targets so I can't see them letting a world class striker go with no obvious replacement
