That’s true. Saying that even footballers have to live less luxurious in London than the North due due to property prices. I’ve seen reports that few London PL players have swimming pools etc but that most North West players do.
Aye. Glorious natural beauty... wonderful warm people... and good old fashioned hyperthermia. Don't tell me living up North doesn't have its perks.
Lucas Paqueta is set to be CLEARED of spot-fixing charges by an independent regulatory commission. It will be announced officially next week. (Source: @TimesSport) Will be a lot of support for him and West Ham to sue the FA for damages - The Times say the FA have to pay his £1 Million legal fees and I imagine the FA have spent a lot on legal fees as well.
Is it the FA or the Permier League? I always got the impression that the FA have no power these days when it comes to Premier League matters…..
It’s the FA for this as it is disciplinary issue and the FA run the betting rules. Most cases (Like Man City’s) are done by the PL through.
West Ham club sources are saying a court case against the FA from West Ham is very likely. Be interesting to see how that goes.
Joao Felix’s move to Saudi needs to be investigated, how can they essentially make a profit on a player that has been a complete flop.
Not the first time this has happened either. Saudi's came in and bought both Koulibaly and Mendy for very generous fees to Saudi given they were well out the first team picture and especially in the case of Koulibaly likely to be big financial deadweights going forward. Last year they also sold a winger called Angelo Gabriel for they bought for 13m, loaned him out for a year to Strasbourg where he failed to score or become a first team regularly, yet somehow sold him after that season for 19m to Saudi Arabia. It's not just Chelsea though, I find the money Villa got for Dhuran and Diaby very suspicious too.
Saudi has financial links to Chelsea and owns a smallish share There have done these very dodgy deals before. Unfortunately there is no one likely to investigate- the new regulator should but is more likely to be busy focussing on the mess many lower league clubs are in to start with.
The Duran one is strange but I think they bought way to much into his hype/potential and form, and overplayed. With Felix there is just no reason to pay that much money.
Chelsea closing in on deal to sign Jorrel Hato from Ajax. Agreement between #CFC / #Ajax yet to be reached but getting nearer - compromise expected in coming days on price above €40m. Personal terms in place for 19yo Netherlands defender (David Ornstein) Bayern Munich reach total agreement with Liverpool to sign Luis Diaz. Deal for 28yo winger €75m + permission granted to travel for medical. Proposed 4+1yr contract at #FCBayern. Now ~£190m sales since Hughes became #LFC sporting director (David Ornstein)
Joao Felix has completed his move to Al-Nassr on a two-year contract.Felix has already participated in his first training session.Only the club announcement remains.🇵🇹 pic.twitter.com/JORW0h5pOJ— Ben Jacobs (@JacobsBen) July 28, 2025 Two year contract seems odd when you fork out that much money for a player….
Chelsea want 80 million for Jackson according to reports. Why do they get away with such inflated fees?
Danny Rohl exits position as Sheffield Wednesday head coach. Agreement finalised for 36yo to depart #SWFC - players + staff being informed this morning. German boss free to pursue next steps; expected to take some time to consider options (David Ornstein)
Manchester City have rejected £25m official bid from Nottingham Forest for James McAtee. (Fabrizio Romano)
Felix must be the biggest fraud in football history. 25 years old £200m in transfer fees and his league starts since leaving Benfica look like this 21, 14, 13, 18, 18, 11. The most expensive squad player ever!
He's always been hyped. I still can't see any reason other than the transfer fee as to how he won the 2019 Golden Boy ahead of Sancho
EXCL: Sunderland reach agreement with NEC Nijmegen to sign Robin Roefs as new No1 goalkeeper. Deal for 22yo Netherlands U21 international €10.5m + €3m add-ons & sell-on to #NECNijmegen. Medical today before joining #SAFC on 5yr contract (David Ornstein)
I think granit xhaka could catapult Sunderland from being relegation fodder into midtable. I'm amazed no bigger club has come in for him
He's still a good player, but let's not get carried away here. Mid table is teams like Palace, Everton and Fulham. They're leagues away from them. Best case scenario is he means they're not next season's Southampton.
None of the newly promoted sides are gonna stay up unless they sign true needle movers in attack. As good as some of Sunderland's business has been, they aren't getting enough goals from Mayenda/Isidor/Adingra/Roberts etc. to stay up. Difference makers in attack are the hardest players to sign. Maybe one of the three will manage to find the right player(s) but it's a big ask.
