It won't happen this world cup but there should be and probably will be a discussion over changing the timing of northern hemisphere world cups at some point sooner rather than later. We have 3 world cups upcoming completely inappropriate to be played in the summer really, dangerous for the players, fans, and bad for the product itself where excessive heat just leads to dreary slow paced games.

2034 is going to be in January I believe. But 2026 and 2030 are going to be very hot as will 2031 for the Women (2027 is in Brazil which won’t be too bad).

I suspect 2038 might well be outside of the summer unless it’s in Northern Europe or the southern Hemisphere.

Nottingham Forest have agreed a deal worth about £19m with Juventus for 25-year-old United States winger Timothy Weah and Belgian winger Samuel Mbangula, 21. (ESPN)

Walker-Peters leaving Southampton on a free. Interesting to see where he ends up.

How has he gone from the German World Cup squad to joining the Danish league in 3 years. Even with the age fraud he is only 24/25 surely?

Probably because he got found out at senior level where his physicality levelled out against senior defenders.

I wonder if this also shows that Arteta is not planning on Lewis-Skelly in midfield next season.

Find this odd that he goes from being the National team manager for Wales and now is the Liverpool U21 coach……

I see a future for him of regular transfers between Championship promotion hopefuls and Premier League relegation candidates.

Sean Dyche is the bookies' favourite for the Leicester job. I'm a Dyche fan on the whole but I don't think he's the best appointment for some of the young players they've got, especially Monga.

I hate to say it but they'd be stupid not to go for Rohl. Someone with better prospects than us will soon enough, and I'd put money on him proving them right.

Agreed. I'm pretty surprised nobody else has made a serious bid for Rohl already. I think he's been quite undervalued in the managerial market this summer.
