On one hand, it's great to see what LFC has done by spending so little. On the other hand, imagine where we could be if we spent a little more than 34.7 a year. (of course, it's net spending but if we bought a few more youngsters we could've had a couple of more Elliots joining the team and sold the rest for profit and then bought Mbappe

Ah for the good old days, when if the US needed a forward they’d go to the likes of Germany pick one and give him citizenship an hour before the game. Easy.
https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...d-fans-covering-costs-european-finals-tickets Uefa will cover the costs of more than 30,000 supporters’ tickets for its men’s and women’s club competition finals this year. European football’s governing body has announced 10,000 tickets will be made available for the Champions League final, 8,000 for the Europa League final and 6,000 each for the Europa Conference League final and the Women’s Champions League final, all divided equally between the finalist. The move will come at no cost to the competing clubs and the intention is that the clubs should use the tickets to reward their most loyal supporters. Uefa has stipulated that the tickets must not be given to sponsors, partners or club officials. Uefa also said it was conscious of the current inflationary situation and announced it was capping category four and three tickets at €70 and €180 (just under £60 and £150) respectively for the finals in 2022, 2023 and 2024, keeping in line with the prices in place since 2020.
If they really want it to benefit supporters only, they should make tickets non-resell-able on the open market. Can only be re-sold to other supporters at face value through a UEFA clearing system.
Bad news for Fifa: a survey by the international players’ union, Fifpro, has found that 75% of male players want to keep the World Cup every four years, thanks very much.
great stats there. must have been a hell of a job to assemble them. interesting to look at the % assists per games played. I did a (very) quick run and it seems Kenny is highest at 32%, followed by Trent at 27%.
Hats off to the New Zealand women's team CB that scored a hat-trick of Owen goals for the UNWNT yesterday. That shouldn't happen to anyone, except maybe Harry. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...oals-uswnt-new-zealand-shebelieves-cup-soccer
I saw that. I feel like I often see women score that type of own goal (the botched clearance into your own goal type) but that may just be my perception.
Uefa is almost certain to switch this season's Champions League final away from St Petersburg amid the Ukraine-Russia crisis. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/60474920 There are no teams from Ukraine left in any other European competition this season but Russian club Zenit St Petersburg are still in the Europa League and are set to play the second leg of their play-off round tie with Real Betis in Spain on Thursday. Zenit lost the home leg 3-2.
It's crazy that there is even a question as to whether or not they should be stripped of the event. The world has gone mad.
