Not really. Other European sides also sent professionals. From the Elitserien, SM-Liiga, DEL. Extraliga. The Soviet Union created a lot of innovations in hockey and the Summit Series and Cups against Canadian professionals showed they were more than a match.

That and Belarus who also have some decent young talent led by Levshunov won't happen until that nasty dictator Putin is ousted and this horrible needless war ends.

 

That Cuchu goal is a thing of beauty in it's execution. I know people talk about the Carlos Alberto goal in the final for Brazil against Italy but I think even with my blue and white glasses on that is the finest team goal scored in a World Cup.

The movement, triangulation and the gradual speeding up of the tempo of the passing, the immaculate last one twos and a solid finish as well. 2006 was a real waste of an amazing squad.

I came back from a hike and turned my tv on with the volume down… Granted, I’m not following the Qatar v Switzerland game closely but I was thinking “Man, Qatar is really pushing the Swiss…” then I come to realize the team in green are the Swiss and the reddish color are Qatar…

 

1-0 to the Swiss at half time. Another poor game with one really bad side and another not putting it's chances away. Could be 4-1.

 

Keep hiking..... You won't miss this match. Some of these games are a great cure for insomnia. Hopefully Brazil Morocco resembles a football match.

 

Every half time the seats are vacant for the most part. Not enough food and drink outlets inside the stadium ?

 

I don't know about these particular stadiums but I've heard the concourses in some are poorly designed and get bottlenecked quickly
