    I think this is Mexico’s 5th WC opener…

It would be nice to see different teams for a change, but it is what it is

Would be even funnier if South Africa win big.

You're ignoring the fact that we're playing Mexico. They never beat Argentina at knockout stage since the dawn of time.

I believe they have only ever twice gotten to the quarter final stage in their history, 1970 and 1986.

He should have been selected in the first place.

The Aztrca stadium is magical, so many iconic world cup moments in that ground.

To be fair, I think Scaloni saw the outage on BS Argentina and I even challenged him to a* fight… he came to his senses.

This was the obvious move. If all goes well, Senesi shouldn't even play, but Otamendi is old, Lisandro is injury prone, and Cuti is coming back from an injury, and all three are likely to get cards at some point, so Senesi is the logical next man up.

The fact that it took them so long to pull the trigger tells me that they must have had real concerns in other positions, mainly right and left back and defensive midfield. Hopefully the choice of Senesi signals that now they are more confident that the other spots are well covered.

With Senesi now in the squad, here is our final roster that will try to bring that 4th cup home!

Maybe FIFA wants to make sure that the opening game and the final feature different countries? :D

It has to be. Senesi should be ahead of Otamendi anyway. The only other thing would be Perrone for Lo Celso. And is Molina fit yet ?

Flags are even bigger than before. Very environmentally friendly from FIFA......

Azteca has had a nice renovation though. Much needed. Where's the bit on Pele and Diego ?

The first goal scored by Mexico for the WC they are hosting was scored by a Colombian. . . also, man, South Africa really lacks quality. They can't hold the ball and are kicking the ball around with no intent.

There will be more of this with this expanded tournament. It should have remained at 32 teams. But conehead needs the money as do all the other corrupt heads of continental and national federations.
