So an 18 yr old bought for 600,000, a PSG wash out, and Nolan Roux are St. Etienne's goal scoring threats. Yeah what a very ambitious club.
si señor! when you can buy valbuena and yanga-mbiwa and get change back from your n'jie I say why not?
believe it or not I'm not a Valbuena hater even tho he's smells of O'Merde Lyon is like our OLD Lady when it comes to French international playaz its a the Juve of France or Turin or Italy , little Matthieu might drop his BLow out haircut too
Im not a hater because its clear he would have rather stayed with Marseille than go to Russia as evident by how fast he came back. Once again, OM let him go because they would rather have a cheaper replacement and save some money. Same story with Gignac and Ayew. Its not like he was gung ho about going to Russia.
I'm really not a fan of his (not only because of the OM connection) and this bothers me so much because now there's no way he won't be a starter at Euro 2016.
I stand on my record. I always got a chuckle out of le petit matthieu's habit of flopping and rolling about (which he does much less of these days) but was always amazed at the energy he injects into a team. I once made a remark that he wouldn't do any more at libourne than at barca but that what he does would make him an integral part of either team.
Yohan Mollo flies to Russia http://www.asse-live.com/football/officiel-pret-yohan-mollo-russie-samara_filvert22391.php
So top 5 transfer windows, anyone ? Its pretty slim pickings. 1. PSG 2. OL 3. Bordeaux ??? 4. Nantes??? 5. Rennes???
Ben Yedder upset he wasn't transferred. Wow, no one wants to stay in France lol. http://rmcsport.bfmtv.com/football/mercato-ben-yedder-exprime-son-mal-etre-sur-twitter-911444.html
New to this board, and I have two questions for you all: 1) Do you really care about the Coupe de la Ligue, and if not, would you like to see it scrapped, to reduce fixture congestion? and 2) Should Ligue 1 be shrunk to 18 to make it more competitive, reducing fixtures and, more importantly, costs?
At first I was for the Coupe de la Ligue because it gave "small" teams a chance to win a trophy but there's really no need for it since small teams routinely do well in the Coupe de France and often win it. Yes I think Ligue 1 and 2 should be 18 teams each and the National should become Ligue 3 and have 18 teams and become fully professional. Then we would have 54 pro clubs. Its a pipe dream though. Ligue 1 owners doesnt wanna share the money with Ligue 2 clubs as is so getting them to share even more money isnt going to happen not to mention the crowds at National level arent big enough to support a full pro league. France isnt England or Germany when it comes to football.
I like the Coupe de France more than any other cup because Ligue 2 sides start two rounds before the Round of 64, which allows for a lot of smaller teams to make a run. If I'm not mistaken, a 3rd or 4th division side made it to the quarterfinals last year. The Coupe de la Ligue only include Ligue 1 and 2 and 4 3rd division sides so there isn't even really the small club feel there.
The only good thing about the Coupe de la Ligue is that the final will always draw a big 70,000 + crowd. Bastia was in the final last year and they probably had thousands and thousands of fans there. The fans still travel and show up for the final of this useless cup.
