Heres the latest OM managerial candidate. His resume is quite extensive. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edoardo_Reja
might happen http://www.goal.com/en/news/10/italy/2012/07/03/3219147/reja-confirms-offers-from-ligue-1-clubs
I'd rather go with the younger guy who's an ex player (Ravenelli.) You saw how well how Simone did at Monaco and the younger guy will work better with Anigo.
Well time to cross another one of the list. They're dropping like flies. http://www.foot01.com/equipe/marseille/favre-c-est-officiellement-non-a-l-om,90787 No Baup or Courbis, please. Enough with the retreads. Ravenelli is practically begging for the job and if he has a poor start you can always bring in Courbis or Baup because they arent going anywhere.
Looks like Lille has signed Salomon Kalou to a four year contract. http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/S-kalou-s-engage-a-lille/296871
Lille is getting a increase in revenue thanks to its new stadium. OM is badly run and stadium renovations is hurting our renvenue. OL is putting all of its money behinf its new stadium which is a 100% private project.
Personally I don't think Kalou's very good (or rather, never thought he's a star)... though he is coming on a free transfer. In other words, I'd be very surprised if he lit Ligue 1 on fire... but it is still a decent signing I think, assuming that his wages aren't extreme.
I think Kalou will add useful experience to the squad for their European campaign especially, in last years Champions League campaign I felt that Lille showed a lot of inexperience in drawing a lot games that they should have won (in the league too for that matter). I actually think Lille should probably look at strengthening their defense first most, if they hadn't let in so many ridiculous goals in the last 5 minutes of a bunch of games they would probably had won the league.

the fff article doesn't say how the rating is established so i looked a bit farther: http://www.lfp.fr/reglements/chartes/2011_2012/2.pdf pretty interesting and above all you see that it's not just brownie points for willie waving. serious requirements for a serious attitude towards developing players.
30 Tours FC : 400 points (catégorie 2, classe B) should be higher than that! big things are happening in Tours
Debuchy on his way to Newcastle for £7m it seems, a good bargain for Newcastle and big loss for Lille.
This looks like a case where the player wants to leave and not a case where the club wants to sell to get some money. As a Ligue 1 fan I say F this guy. Lille has Champions League football and a great team and stadium and its sad that our French players only care about the EPL. If it were Barcelona or Milan or Man U then yeah ok I could see why he wants to leave but frigging Newcastle ? I will laugh my butt off when Newcastle starts a lineup with more French players than British players. Thats modern football though and UEFA let it happen so people will accept it because thats how it is these days. You said it all when you said "bargin." How screwed up is it when a French international is a "bargin." Why should they invest in young British talent when foreigners are "bargins." Damn, I hate UEFA.
Normally I would agree with you bud, but I think you're somewhat underrating Newcastle's strength of squad right now. Yeah they aren't Barca or Man U but they missed out on the CL only by a few points and the squad that they're building is quite formidable. I would say they're stronger than Lille at this very moment, talent-wise. And also don't ignore that Debuchy has been at Lille technically for almost 2 decades now (if we include his development in their youth system) so he did taste CL football the last time they were in some years back. Also, Newcastle does invest in young British talent, they did bring up Andy Carroll, who they very smartly sold to Liverpool for well, 35 million pounds , or only 1 less than what Chelsea compensated for Hazard.
Thiriez can't be too happy about seeing 3 French internationals at Newcastle. It only proves his Footpro 2012 was a failure. Yes I know they are a strong team but would they be as good if they were built on mostly British players ? I doubt it.
Of course they wouldn't. I agree with you on a lot, just that I thought Debuchy's potential transfer to Newcastle wasn't such a slap in the face to Ligue 1 when you consider the other factors, like how long he was at Lille. I think that the transfers which truly bother me the most are when players with talent but are coming off just one breakthrough season immediately jump to a "bigger" league and then halt their development.
