Again not in the squad, and not listen as injured anywhere I've searched. Looks like it's another one down the European black hole.
He's probably just injured. Unless you've got a reliable source for Greek Superleague injury reports - in which case, spill.
According to an Israeli sport site, One, Gboly Ariyibi is on his way to Hapoel Be’er Sheva for a trial.
That'd be a good move. Israeli football isn't very lucrative overall, but Be'er Sheva are both well-resourced and well-run, winning the title two seasons ago. They do this despite not splashing the cash - their policy is to have best-in-class infrastructure and the fifth-highest wage bill. If he signs and gets PT he can expect European football while he's there. Not bad for a Championship washout.
According to this article on Sport 5, Hapoel Be'er Sheva is really not sure if to proceed with Ariyibi. Apparently, they know that he has suffered with some injuries and because of that, he has not played for the past five weeks. They may make him suit up in a friendly to ensure that he has no lingering issues.
The reports coming in are that despite impressing during the trial, Be’er Sheva are concerned about the injuries and have decided not to sign him.
"He's a very impressive young man, but we feel he'd be a better fit somewhere else" = "It's not you, it's me..."
Any idea what's going on with this guy? Not making the squad since Christmas, still figures in the Panatolikos player list (as "12 Αριγίμπι Γκμπολί 18.01.1995 Επιθετικός"*) but there are no reports of any injury. He's just been left out. * = https://www.panetolikos.gr/players/
If you want to get into emoji-based speculation, he might be headed back to Motherwell. 🤷🏾♂️😉 https://t.co/MSQ8vyI4yO— Gboly Ariyibi (@GbolyAriyibi) February 7, 2020
Ariyibi started at left wing on July 17. His team is in 6th and out of 8 in relegation round. But they avoided relegation, and will remain in first division this fall. Not clear if his contract continues into next season. https://us.soccerway.com/matches/20...eague/panaitolikos-agrinio/volos-nfc/3280846/
They gave him at shot at striker and wide forward too, and even on the right, so we can't say they didn't give him a chance.
He did really well in Scotland, not so much in Greece. Can't blame him for trying to level up but perhaps he needs to bump down a bit
Interesting interview with Ariyibi about his career trajectory. He sounds like he will be in Greece for the upcoming season. https://www.nottheoldfirm.com/exclu...nottingham-and-motherwell-with-gboly-ariyibi/
Ariyibi just started preseason training with Panaitolikos FC. Season starts September 12. https://www.instagram.com/p/CD_wb4ogV5F/

Panetolikos has no Twitter presence anymore, but Ariyibi is on the bench for their season opener in Crete. The visitors lead 1-0 at halftime.
