Enjoy. http://www.planetfootball.com/article.asp?id=144763&cpid=218&title=Vancouver+deny+Gazza+approach
I don't know what seems more odd, the thought of Gazza coming to play in Vancouver or the fact that Whitecaps owner Greg Kerfoot actually spoke to someone. We've never heard him speak a word about anything in Vancouver. He wasn't even at the press conference when he bought the team. Gazza would fit in too well. Somewhere during the game he''d dissappear into the southside and get mixed in with the rest of us drunks.
With all the downsizing at Swangard, would there be room in the southside for Gazza buddy Mr "Five Bellies"?
The downsizing is only in the mind. They haven't removed any seats, they are still selling the ones they have done the last few years, just not counting the three sets of bleachers way back in the north endzone. His extra bellies would fit in with all of our extra bellies!
Between Gazza and the guy from Indiana last year who played up front (name escapes me), there won't be any pies, beer, or anything else left!!

Nice errors . First the quote: "US A-League outfit Vancouver Whitecaps FC have denied they are not pursuing former England international Paul Gascoigne, although they would consider a swoop should Gazza approach the club." They have denied they are NOT persuing him. Does that mean they ARE persuing him? Also the Whitecaps defeated the Tampa Bay Rowdies to win the 1979 SoccerBowl, not the New York Cosmos. They disposed of the New York Cosmos in the semifinal game, which has been called the greatest match that was ever played in the NASL.
