According to this press report, Gazza went to an emergency room in the UK complaining that he had lost feeling on one side of his face. C:\TempInet\Temporary Internet Files\OLK60\SOCCER_Gascoigne.html
Sorry. I can't get it to work. The report says that Gazza "turned up at accident and emergency in Gateshead, near Newcastle, with his dad, John, at 12.45pm on Saturday, according to The Sun. "The ex-England and Newcastle star was complaining that the left side of his face was numb, said the paper." There's more, but that's the gist of it. The rest of the article is about his career. No indication as to whether this is serious or not.
Try this: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/headlinenews?id=253401&cc=5901 Bottom line - the family is saying it isn't serious, and the hospital's saying nothing. Hopefully, this truly is nothing serious and he can finish his career somewhere. But man, wouldn't this have touched off a lively round of posts if DCU had signed him?
The British press waiting for more information? That would be a first!! Losing felling on one side of your face is hardly something someone could judge to be minor in a hurry. Could be minor but it could be as serious as a stroke or signs of something almost, or perhaps, even worse. Hopefully it's just one of the minor possiblities. I'm sure will see something soon.
Common among people with a long history of over-indulgence in alcoholic beverages. It happens to other people too...
