the bloke actually looks in shape... http://search.news.yahoo.com/search/news?c=news_photos&p=gascoigne
Has been for a week or so, Can he go back to UCLA? Or did he sign a contract in Italy or with an agent that would make him NCAA inelgible?
Gazza looks somewhat thin, maybe a little too thin. let's wait and see how all this pans out...anyone know where he will be sitting on Saturday night?
I can't believe it. Did someone just say "Gazza looks somewhat thin?" Never thought I would hear that.
it is weird, isn't it? i'm sure i don't even know 1/10th of his history...but he definitely looks like he is at least in decent shape.
What makes me happy is that he is smiling, he looks like he is having a good time. I have a good feeling about this. He hasn't arrived asking for a suite in the Trump Tower.
Marveious,, If he doesnt play tomorrow I am makeing a road trip to NC. after that I will book my tickets for RFK if he is there.
Alex Yi is no longer eligible for his UCLA scholarship as was reported on the Juniors Board by several very knowledgable posters (i.e. Sandon, davide, 3rd_Degree, etc.). Neither he nor Nelson Akwari (previously was training with the Dallas Burn and originally from Texas) are eligible because of the Italy thing. The word was that a new manager or owner (cannot recall which it was) came in and in a cost cutting move eliminated ALL of the foreign talent. This happened very shortly after they arrived ... they were most bummed. No idea where they'll end up, but Yi has been thinking of paying his way back to UCLA to finish the degree. His family is very dedicated to education. As for Gazza ... man, I really really don't want to say this, BUT, I'm kinda shocked at the fact that he's reporting in shape. Perhaps, for the first time in years, he really is taking this seriously ... at least for the moment. Like it or not, I see ZERO chance of Hudson not making the deal work. Where does that leave Etch? -Tron
1. Sounds like something straight out of the Miracle of Castle di something. 2. I really hope this comes through. 3. Retired.
Although physically Etch's game looks very very different than when in his twenties, Etch is still only 31 or so I think, and I doubt he'll retire. Gazza is 35. -Tron
Gascoigne given firm notice of level of expectation PAUL GASCOIGNE is on trial here in Washington DC. His intention is to sign with DC United, the capital’s Major League Soccer side, and he trained with them for the first time yesterday looking unusually lean; not exactly dazzling, but pulling a few tricks, a couple of step-overs, exhibiting the odd glimpse of his fading magic. But if it was solely football ability that they were interested in, the contract would have been sewn up and signed long ago... The Times Online
