What are the chances that since DC and Hudson are talking now that they need to fix their team elsewhere that maybe we could trade APC and Wolde for Gazza and say.... Olson? Does Hudson like APC? It seems that it would help both teams since we have a cruddy Defense and absolutely no midfield to speak.
I guess that wouldn't be so bad. I'm not too happy about giving away APC, but I would be more than happy to see Wolde go. Having Gazza and Olsen would be pretty good too.
Question Number one is would Gazza want to play here. It makes sense though for the league because we have a foreign slot open. I believe that DC does too... and by trading APC we still would have a foreign slot open. As much as I would not want to see APC go I don't think hes a good fit for the team.
What would our lineup look like if this came true? *******twellman********fuller********* Kamler**Franchino**Gazza**Rooney**Ralston ****Olsen****Llammosa****Pierce******* *************Brown*****************
Sorry bout that! I have a question though... is it that Gazza only wants to play for DC and noone else?
My guess is that the odds of this happening are roughly the same as the odds of Rusty Pierce being the best man at Jaime Moreno's wedding.
Olsen apparently on the DC web page wants change. It is also stated that Hudson is thinking about fixing the forwards slot before going after someone like gazza.
lufty- Ben Olsen wants most of all to play in England again. He was really hoping that Nottingham Forest would have given him a contract when he got hurt...but it didn't happen, probably because Forest was in all sorts of financial difficulties at the time. At any rate, his MLS contract expires at the end of next season so if he completes his comeback then I'd bet he'll go back to England. This is the kind of change that Benny is thinking of, not going to another MLS team. As for your proposed trade, I don't think that Harris has much trade value anymore due to his lack of scoring: he's entered The Lassiter Zone so to speak. On the other hand, Olsen's value will be very high if he continues to play with the energy that he did Saturday as he gets into full fitness. The other part of the trade, Gazza for APC, lot's of unknowns there, mainly around Gazza. If Ray thinks he'll be great, then there's no trade even given his fondness for APC. And as a side note, Gazza has said that he'll play the rest of this season for very cheap which United needs since they are rubbing against the cap so if this trade did happen, the Revs would have to eat most of APC's salary.
I assume you think the braintrust at United (an oxymoron in itself) is legally dead to consider this deal.. While were at it, why don't we throw in Rimando, Convey and Quaranta as well?
