And in other news, in clear violation of International Law and the Geneva Convention, hamas continues to target civilian targets with rocket fire, including schools and homes, as well as using human shields, fighting without uniforms to distinguish themselves from civilians, using schools, mosques and homes with civilians inside as weapons stores and firing from said places trying to draw fire.
If Israel didn't restrict Palestinian economy, maybe Hamas could afford to buy military clothes like the Israelis do whose military dress is gifted by the US.
I'm pretty sure they sew their own uniforms. ********, we import ours from China. Why would we make theirs for them? First Page
RE - older thread. Not all Europeans are cowards. The protests you see here are from the left and their strange alliance with extremist Islamist migrants. Secular Socialism usually equates Judaism to capitalism and so there has always been a antisemitic element to its philosophy, national and international. Whilist I am a Christian exclusivist and believe Europe's interests should be dominated entirely, at every single level by the goals and aims of Christianity alone, unhyphenated, I do believe it is perfectly reasonable for the Jews to maintain for themselves a homeland. If this means that less land is under the thumb of Islam then no protest from me. Especially as Islam itself brutally raped, pillaged and stole from Christendom so much sacred land, across North Africa & Egypt, Near East, Constantinople, Northern Cyprus, Albania and so on. Even in very recent times, these so called "opressed people" are responsible for brutal ethnic cleansing of Christian villages in Lebanon during the Civil War (such as Damour). Hamas has also contributed significantly to reversing the Palestinian Christian majority demography of Bethlehem. The brainwashed, self-destructive and rootless Europe loony left are extremely susceptible to falling folly of propaganda, especially if it makes them feel more egalitarian about themselves. Hamas are aware of this and fired rockets at Israel to intentionally get a response, so that they could play the victim in the wider international media. Part of an Islamic irredentist goal with the ultimate aim of facilitating the building of a New Caliphate. Leftist sadists naively see this confict as; Hamas, the innocent, virginal, unblemished romanticised underdogs worthy of support, while Israel is a "big opressive monster" for defending herself. I for one think it is repulsive how Hamas intentionally started this war, in full knowledge that it would get a reaction and are willing to sacrifice the lives of innocent Palestinians to further their own political ambitions. Do they have no respect for life? Even that of their own people? Barbaric. It is completely immoral on the most basic level to use "human shield" tactics period, in absolutely any circumstance, as Hamas are doing in this case IMO.
Parts of them, or did for a short time. Perhaps the whole beret hullabaloo changed that, but I doubt it.
IDF apologizes fro UN building strike, although says that the only reason they fired upon it is they came under attack from Hamas once again. I don't blame UN, they are toothless against Hamas who will and do as they please and use whatever means to fire at IDF. http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1231950855726&pagename=JPost/JPArticle/ShowFull and another Hamas leader is killed. Good riddance. http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1231950866724&pagename=JPost/JPArticle/ShowFull
Israel shelled the United Nations headquarters in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, engulfing the compound and a warehouse in fire and destroying thousands of pounds of food and humanitarian supplies intended for Palestinian refugees. A senior Israeli military officer had also said Israeli troops shelled the compound after coming under fire from Palestinian militants there — an account dismissed by a U.N. official there at the time as"nonsense". http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090115/ap_on_re_mi_ea/ml_israel_palestinians
After huge protest from all over the world, the Israeli government apparently apologized and finally noticed that such silly & irresponsible actions seriously damage the country's reputation. Since it is already the 3rd attack on UN institutions, one has to ask himself whether the government/army leadership still has full control over the IDF troups... But definitely not from the UN headquarter (according to credible sources)! I really ask myself if those soldiers who fire at UN buildings & trucks, are aware of the consequences for their country's image during these days... PS: Last night, Hamas seemed to agree to a ceasefire ... but Khaled Mashal's (he even topped the propaganda of the Nazi Göbbels speech in Damascus - I've just followed a few minutes of it on "Al Jaseera TV" - gives one the impression that they want to fight until Allah gifts them the victory (which is very close according to him).
How come you don't have a slide going back 3,500 years ago. If you want to start going back in history, go all the way back. Your propaganda piece also neglects to point out that the division proposed in slide #2 was rejected. Apparently, they wanted all of the pie or none. Oops.
Ancient historical and religious claims are two things the region has WAY too much of. I realize that it is grossly oversimplistic to say this, but IF it were to be possible to divorce religion from the subject, we could begin to discuss the issue as an essentially modern, post-colonial issue.
I have been trying hard to avoid this thread, but this is the last straw! First, here is an interesting video on "who started it?"
