Am I the only one disapointed in his play so far. I think I saw Bill giving him some praise over in the postgame thread, but I really have not been impressed by him so far this season. He did make the run near post which freed up BMB for his goal, but other than that he didn't seem very effective at all last game. He just seems a step off from last season to me, am I wrong.
I think you're wrong. Every Crew game I see he has at least one lethal chance on goal and seems to get involved a lot on the offensive end. I think he's about due. I sold him from my fantasy team to reap a massive profit windfall after his game in week one, but I'm very worried that I'm going to regret it. He's solid.
He's a good player - no doubt. But he hasn't been as sharp so far as he was at the end of last season.
This year everyone is more prepared to play him. Last year he just burst onto the scene at the end of the year and it appeared that he wasn't taken too seriously (the haircut may have been a factor here) until later in the playoffs. This year everyone's seen him live or on film. Similar to Martino learning to live with the new "attention". Do these two have the same barber, BTW. How about a Mowhawk for el Raton. Or those big purple spikey things!
I think he plays as well as last year. I think he is a good two ways player and is one of our best 11. One thing I am not sure and I need to observe more is that he sometimes seems to not have enough leg strength to cross a long ball from left to right. His free kicks or left-to-right cross comes short many times. I kind of think it might be because he is a small guy.
