MLS Commissioner Don Garber to Attend Heartland Soccer Association Coaches Meeting KANSAS CITY, MO (February 21, 2003) – The Kansas City Wizards will host the Spring 2003 Heartland Soccer Association Coaches Meeting in the Pavilion at Arrowhead on Wednesday, February 26th. Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber will be the guest speaker for the evening. Wizards founder Lamar Hunt, General manager Curt Johnson, Head Coach Bob Gansler and midfielder Chris Klein will also be present at the meeting. Papa John’s Pizza and Pepsi products will be served from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. At least one coach or representative from each team in the Heartland Soccer Association is encouraged to attend to pick up league information and team packets. The Heartland Soccer Association is the largest soccer league in the state of Kansas with over 600 teams and over 9,000 players ranging from U8 to U19 and all recreational and competitive levels. This is the third year the Heartland Soccer Association Coaches Meeting has been held at the Pavilion at Arrowhead. Previous guest speakers have been Lenexa Chamber of Commerce President Blake Schreck and U.S. Men’s National Team Head Coach Bruce Arena. Yes, that would be nice. It would be especially so if Garber would actually say something of interest beyond the various forms of "the league is growing and here is our positive spin".
Yes, but Lamar Hunt has used these comments as well. I swear I almost laughed out loud at the meeting after the draft when Mr. Hunt said he's seen 61K in Foxboro for the final and 37K in Arrowhead for a WCQ, so theres no reason to think the Wizards cant put 37K in for a game.
