Why couldn't the Spanish networks broadcast an early Saturday match (2pm). That way soccer lovers can switch over to the Deuce at 4pm for their weekly Soccer Saturday match. The shootout games come in the evening for limited satellite subscribers. With this setup, we can have potentiall four matches on the tube. How could MLS exposure not improve under this program?

Because the potential revenue and general appearance of a good crowd on a Saturday night outweighs the potential exposure and appearance of what would most likely be a weak crowd at 2pm on a Saturday afternoon (and keep in mind that the West Coast teams would have to play at 11am (!) for such a game to be on at 2pm in the East.)

    Besides:

Meaning, Telemundo and Univision don't appear to be offering a 2pm Saturday timeslot, not that it would be overly attractive if they did.

    Yes, it's a Conspiracy.

This sounds good. Even assuming Garber is spinning things, I would assume that, since he's throwing out actual names and giving at least rough estimates, that there's some truth lurking in this interview.

    PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be true!

Well he's not going to get on and paint a picture of gloom and doom, so you can expect the positives from him. It's worthwhile to hear these postives as it does give reason to be optimistic, but the discerning fan knows there are concerns out there as well.

I believe the Welsch refer to bowls as "boxes." Therefore, a soup box is a Welsch soup bowl. And the Welsch are known for adding emphasis when their soup is really good by calling it soupER. Hence, a soup box is really the Souper Bowl.

Meanwhile, back to the i-view. I need a new computer. If Apple becomes a primary sponsor of MLS, I'm buying a G4. Otherwise I'm sticking with a PC.

Who are the Welsch? Are they people who don't pay off their bets, like Oliver? :)
