    hey...

does anyone know the status of gao hong? i was at the freedom site, and her name is no longer on the roster, and was curious what's going on ...

could coach gabarra be brining in another backup goalkeeper for siri?

Good catch, I have no idea. The actual page for Gao Hong is still there (just use the format used for the URL for the other players), but the link is gone.

    haha...yeah, lol

i actually heard about this since the beginning of the week but i wasn't too sure if i could talk about it, thus my roundabout way of asking! lol

and i must say, i will now have to be a freedom fan too!!

and you guys got a great player and class person in nicci, as she is one of the nicest and most personable ppl i have met! if you want more info about nicci, check out my team canada site (http://www.gobigred.ca) where you can find her bio, pics and even a Q&A section in which nicci takes some time to do for the site!

    so happy for nicci!!! :)

Someone remind me why the Freedom waived Fahey? So that when our keeper is with the NT we can have an inexperienced keeper?

if you are referring to nicci wright as the inexperience keeper...that's totally wrong!

nicci is the most capped keeper in team canada history and is a team canada veteran since 1997. she has played at the 1999 women's world cup, and was in goal when team canada snapped the USWNT's home-streak wins back in november of 2000 when canada defeated the USWNT 3-1 in columbus.

    she is far from inexperienced!

the vancouver breakers changed their name after last season because of conflict with the boston breakers, as they adopted the men's team name and are the women's team etc.

it honestly makes no sense what so ever
waiving fahey was one of the biggest suprises maybe in washington freedom keeper history
it was a mistake which gabarra though would benefit the team but instead is making it harder for newer players to get used to their new wusa team

personally knowing erin i think that she will if was offered a job turn it down
they made a mistake and they might just have to end up paying for it

thats the only way i look at it
    opinions?

No thats not what i meant. I wasn't talking about Wright. (I didn't make myself clear) My bad.

I just don't get the point of cutting Fahey to go with a keeper who was obviously done. (as a lot of us suspected Gao was) It's not definate that we'll even get Wright. For all we know we might end up with our reserve keeper wehn Siri is away with the NT.

    yeah
    gao was deff. done
and the way the freedom announced her to the roster was for future considerations which makes no sense because fahey could have been the future and ago has already had her prime and its long over
gabarra make a mistake and he might pay for it in the long run

(thats what you get for cutting my trainer)

What did she say? Can we get a translator in here, please?

Elaine, thanks for the info on the name change. That's too bad. I rather liked the fact there were two "Breakers" teams around. The only way it could be confusing would be if Vanc. moved up to the WUSA.

It looks like Nicci is official pending the finalization of her visa. Gabarra is trying to get her on board by May 17th, when Siri will most likely be playing for the USWNT in Alabama.

    Freedom Sign Wright Keeper

"Although Wright has signed a player contract with the WUSA, her signing is contingent on the finalization of her official work visa. Her arrival with the team is dependent on that finalization, and the Freedom hope she will be available for selection in the Freedom's May 17 home match vs. the Carolina Courage."

from what i hear seems like everything is a green light as long as nicci's visa goes through...but she won't be able to join the team until it does, so that would be sometime next week.

    can't wait!

Considering Erin Regan would be our 'keeper in the May 17 game if it doesn't come through, I sure hope it does (no offense, Erin).
