Who cares about anything else at Gamescom, Geomtry Wars 3 announced!!! "While we wait for King’s Quest, we can all shoot some shapes in Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions. Studio Lucid Games, which has produced a small number of mobile games, is taking on the latest entry in the popular shooter franchise. Dimensions will feature a single-player campaign with 50 different challenges in addition to 10 different battle modes. The game is due out this holiday, but Sierra once again didn’t mention any release platforms by name — but it is coming to “more platforms than ever before.”" LINK
Oh and MS announced that FIFA 15 and Forza Horizon 2 will be the first games you can pre-order and pre-load on the Xbox One.
I like the whole Ultimate Team Legends, too bad i won't get to try it out since i'm getting FIFA for PS4
M$ must have given Crystal Dynamics a SHITLOAD of money to make ROTR exclusive, for however long that lasts anyways, seeing as Square Enix decided not to give CD anymore funds due to them considering the last TR to be a failure. Dumb move considering CD just halved their potential market by going exclusive. It must truly be a monumental amount of money they got from M$
Well that's me out. Even though I enjoyed the last game, I'm not too shattered by the news. I do agree with you that it's not likely to be a move that pays huge dividens for either Microsoft or Crystal Dynamics.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is now exclusive to Xbox One. Square Enix clearly wants the game to be uncharted: as in, not entering the charts.— Ex-CEO Kaz Hirai (@KazHiraiCEO) August 12, 2014
Losing all interest in Metal Gear, the whole box thing in this new one looks ridiculous and it seems the AI is terrible
not at first. Who knows how long the exclusivity will last, could be a few months, could be a few years, either way M$ is must be giving CD enough money to cover the initial losses of only coming out on one platform. I'll telling you, it must be crazy good money they're getting
Why then would the studio head make it appear as if it won't be in his statement? If the idea is for that game to become the console's killer app, they might be in for a rude awakening.
When it comes to exclusivity look at MS's track record, if it's out on Xbox it's usually out on PC as well.
Because they'll be like, we listened to you fans and we're releasing it on PC as well. MS still wins. As for a killer app, Tomb Raider was/is never going to be that. It's nowhere near a killer app for any console.
I didn't get to follow Sonys press conference but I did just see the idea of "Share Play" and thought it was a pretty cool addition. "The unique thing about SHARE PLAY is that the person you invite does not have to own the game. You can invite friends to play from anywhere in the world providing they have PlayStation Plus. They jump straight into the game where they can play co-operatively or competitively against you. " LINK
Are we talking about Star Wars: Force Unleashed?? It was released for PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Mac, PSP, PS2, Wii, iOS, DS and even the n-gage
This is what MS wanted to originally do on the Xbox One when it was first announced. The thing MS wanted to do was let you share your game with up to 10 people on your friends list, and they could download it onto their system and play it whenever. Sony's requires the original purchaser to be online while the other person is playing the game.
My guess is to bolster their "exclusive" list and is a quicker, cheaper approach than starting up a 1st party studio.
