Hmm.. Looks like I've got some pent up rage left over from the USOC loss... Anywho, Game thread for Saturday: Who: Seattle Sounders vs San Jose Earthquakes Where: Buckshaw Stadium, Santa Clara, CA When: 7:30PM, Saturday, August 11 Watch: KONG 6/16, THIS TV Listen: 97.3 KIRO FM, La Gran D 99.3 FM @#$%D @#$@$#%@!#$ @!#$!@#!@ @2@#$# I'll be out of town for this game and I might be glad for that. Based on how much playing time our key players got in the USOC final, I'm not sure what we'll field and still be able to hold off San Jose's potent offense while still trying to get goals of our own.. *sigh* Good times. Good times. The good news is that it sounds like traveling support will be out in force, so maybe there will be long stretches where you can hear them over SJE's supporters like previous visits to the Buck. The bad news is the giant question mark hanging over the Sounders head as to how they'll recover from the USOC loss. They'll either come out looking to redeem themselves for the giant steamer they left at LiveStrong's midfield, or they'll come out completely flat after being demoralized in the game... So, enjoy the game for me.
This Yoshou's Guaranteed to be Wrong Predicted line-up is going to be even more throwing things against the wall and seeing what sticks than normal... ----------Johnson--------Montero---------- Evans---------Tiffert/Alonso----------Cato Burch----------Ianni/Parke---------Johansson ------------------Gspurning----------------- I figure Johnson and Montero should be nice and rested considering how little work they got during the game, so they get to start. Caskey and Rose were gigantic blackholes and while they were out there for about as long as Tiffert and Evans, I'm thinking the blackmail pics Evans has on Sigi will get him the nod and WTF not start Tiffert, eh? Rosales had a very busy 120 minutes so might as well give him the night off, even if our offense will blow without him. Tiffert had better step up. At defense, Ianni is the only one that played the entire game (well 118 minutes), while the rest were out the entire game, or had limited time.
Got a bad feeling this is going to be one of those defend for your lives and hopefully nick a goal on a quick counter type of game.
we'll be fine our starting 11 will be out on the field sharp and focused. As for SJE, the last time they played a match was back on 7/31. Plenty of rest but they might be rusty on matchday.
anyone read this article yet quite interesting: http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/...ere-about-to-see-if-a-double-standard-exists/ who's the ref for saturday matchup?
Sounders playing well, tiffert making good plays. Ochoa working hard to score a goal. Its looking good right now.
Is it just me or is Tiffert wearing a long sleeved electricity jersey under his long sleeved rave green?
Well, that part of your wish is handled. Here at home, we've been singing along with about 10 ECS chants and songs now; all you can hear from SJ fans is a drum droning on. "Come on Sounders, score a goal . . . ."
While it is loud (and props to Estrada's friends and family that you can see at midfield), I'm not sure it is as dominant as it sounds. I believe the announcer booth is right behind them.
As expected with a 5 man midfield, lots of possession for us and SJ isn't getting much, but we aren't getting a lot of penetration into the final third and we aren't taking advantage of it when we do get there. Cracker of a shot by Ochoa though.
