Who: Seattle Sounders @ Real Salt Lake Where: Rio Tinto Stadium, Sandy, UT When: 7:00 PM, Wednesday, July 4 Watch: KING 5 Listen: 97.3 KIRO FM, La Gran D 99.3 FM A last minute goal steals the streak breaking win in New England and leaves the Sounders sitting on an 8 game winless streak (0W-4D-4L). However, Seattle isn't the only team on a winless streak in this game. RSL is currently sitting on a 3 game lossing streak, including 2 losses at Rio Tinto, which has traditionally been a fortress. Other good news for the Sounders is that Jamison Olave has missed the last two games with a calf strain, so perhaps he'll be missing this one as well. Nat Borchers is also nursing an injury, but he hasn't missed any games. On the suspension side of things, the Sounders will be without Osvaldo Alonso due to yellow card accumulation, but will have the services of Fredy Montero who missed the New England game on a red card suspension. Just think.. One of these days the Sounders might have every player available. Heh. Who am I kidding? EJ and Montero are sitting on yellow card suspensions, so if the pattern holds, we'll be without at least one of them in the game against Colorado. Not much else on the news front. The Sounders did return to Seattle after the New England game, so will be flying out to UT on Tuesday. Gspurning is still out, but is supposedly gearing up this weekend. I haven't seen anything on Weber's condition after leaving Sautrday at half time, so one would probably expect Meredith to be between the pipes.
I'll make this one short and sweet.. Yoshou's Guaranteed to be Wrong Predicted line-up is: --------- Johnson ---------- Montero ------- Fernandez ---- Rose/Evans---- Rosales Gonzalez ----- Ianni/Hurtado ----- Johansson ------------------- Meredith ------------------- Edit: Oops. Take out Alonso
Its no fun when your already wrong the second when you click post Gonna skip this one. *sigh* well so far its been a boring silly transfer window. I kinda wish they would hurry up regarding Tiffert.
I can't argue with this, depending on how Johansson recovers after going 90 in his first game in a long time. With the amount that Scott has been playing lately, if Sigi doesn't want to start Johansson again, then maybe Rose/Carrasco and Evans at RB?
Personally I'm sick of Parke - get's dizzy when he looks at the sun, bi*ched to the paper when he wasn't starting, and gets paid twice what Ianni gets and four times what Scott gets.
And Scott... Possibly Ianni, but Ianni has really stepped it up (again) this season, while Parke has backslid, so that's a tough call. That damn ACL injury of Hurtado's really f'd him up. He was amazing in 2009 and looked to be on target to be one of the best CBs in the league until that injury.
All of our CBs are average. Even Zach Scott when he plays CB is pretty average, and he's like 4th string. So the whole Parke/Ianni/Hurtado/Scott issue is kinda.... meh-- it's whoever Sigi throws out there. This match will be awful. With Alonso suspended, we'll put Rose + Carrasco in the middle, who will combine for at least 3 cards and get one of their players stretchered off. EJ will rip off his shirt before even scoring a goal, and Scott and Espindola will trade punches is pre-game. The only exciting thing about this game is Montero vs Beckerman.... which is actually pretty exciting.
Should be an interesting from a defensive side... --------Johnson-------------Montero------- Fernandez---Evans/Carrasco---Rosales Gonzalez-----Parke/Hurtado-----Scott -----------------Meredith-------------
Well... The ball has been in our half the entire game so far.. Offense needs to work on some possession just to give the D some rest.
Damn it, ref! You ran over with the red out and you switch to yellow? But on replay, perhaps good decision to change good?
Has this been an improvement over how you have been over the past few weeks? Or is this status quo? Or a step back?
