Who: Seattle Sounders @ Montreal Impact Where: Stade Saputo, Montreal, QC When: 4:30PM, Saturday, June 16 Watch: KONG 6/16, THIS TV (Espanol) Listen: 97.3 KIRO FM, La Gran D 99.3 FM Finally!!! Our long national nightmare is over!! What? You're saying the MLS International break wasn't national? Well, it should have been and it sure as hell was long and a nightmare. Speaking of which, whose bright idea was it to take these 3 week breaks? I'm going to find them and break some kneecaps. Argh. I need me some Sounders!! On the good side, we did have USOC to hold us over, but until we start facing MLS teams, USOC just isn't the same, IMHO. But now we're back to the MLS regular season and we're off to pop Stade Saputo's MLS cherry and beat down on the Impact, or, as I like to refer to them as, "Sounders North". Sadly, they have reduced the number of former Sounders they have on the team and only Neagle continues to make regular appearances, but still! Sounders North fits. But, let's be honest here, this game isn't about the Impact, who suck, so whatever. It's about the Sounders and the long break allowing us to rest our injured starters and getting our full starting XI back on the field. Sadly, that took a hit last week with Gspurning having a setback and going down to California to get a second opinion on his injury. The remainder of the injuries is a mixed bag. Evans, Gonzalez, Rosales, EJ, and Flaco were in full training today, while Ianni and Johannson joined Gspurning off to the side training. So, here's hoping our offense kicks some major butt on Saturday.
Let's do this! It's Yoshou's Guaranteed to be Wrong Predicted Line-up!! -------- Johnson -------- Montero ---------- Fernandez --- Evans/Rose --- Rosales Gonzalez --- Hurtado/Parke --- Scott ------------------Meredith-------------- There really isn't anything surprising with this line-up considering the injuries and the players that recovered during the long ass break.
********IN GET IN! ******** YOU IMPACT CUNTS!! EVEN THE FRENCH DESPISE YOU!! RAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWR! ahem. still in Euro mode. regular relaxed programming will return shortly.
This may be a shocker, but Ricketts has come up injured. When he's on his game Ricketts is lights out, but daaaaamn, that guy gets injured more often than pretty much any GK I've seen. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2012/06/11/impacts-ricketts-injured-wcup-qualifier-jamaica
Fernandez and Rosales are obvious starters... but Caskey and Cato have been great. Imagine having Rosales torment defenses for 65 min, then bringing Cato in. Ruthless.
You might want to refer to the Impact as Sounders South, since Seattle actually lies north of Montreal. Hoping for a win, the Sounders haven't gotten one in MLS for awhile and Montreal is a very beatable team even on the road. Get back in the win column Sounders!
Bah! So close. Only difference from the predicted lineup is Burch for Gonzo. On the Montreal side, none of the four former Sounders are starting, but Wahl, Neagle, and Nyassi are in the 18.
I don't particularly like Scott as a RB. I think his lack of speed would normally be a liability, but Montreal are starting Mapp on his side and he isn't particularly fast. However, I would be a little worried when Neagle comes in. Speaking of Neagle, I'm still extremely upset that we traded him away for Stepover. He would have been a great player for the future.
Eh. Estrada took Neagle's role and with Estrada out, we've got Rose and Caskey that are stepping up. Johnson can be frustrating, but he's done a good job on goal scoring and holding up the ball and he is only going to get better as he gets more comfortable with his teammates and the style of play.
Does Scott think the sideline is one of our players? No sense of urgency in this game at all. I'm not a fan of how complacent our guys look right now.
Terrible half by us. No rhythm to the game whatsoever. On a completely random note: has Burch always chewed gum while playing? Kinda dangerous if it accidentally gets into his windpipe.
That's an extremely soft red card, and an extremely soft defensive effort from us all day. Pathetic showing today.
Fortunately be's served his time.... Next game should be interesting. Hurtado out on suspension, Ianni, Gonzalez, and Johansson injured.... I wonder who is going to be our other CB...
Hopefully, this is the low point of the season. The defense just looks completely disorganized right now and Flaco and Rosales are not playing like DP's.
