He progressively narrowed the list of candidates down to essentially Piol with an acknowledgment that Eneli improved after the adjustments. I suppose he didn’t remove Ruiz from the criticism but if he’s dumb enough to do that after not giving Ruiz any time the last few games it’s completely on him
He referenced plurals throughout so I assumed it was more than one. It’s an assumption because I didn’t watch the game.
Cool…? Even if you think Russell could redeliver some form of his old self, does he markedly improve this team? Are we 6th or 7th instead of 8th or 9th?
Maybe. I like Russell because he comes in and creates. Whether that’s for 5 minutes or 15. I will take that over watching whatever it is half the guys on this team do for 90. Does it make a real difference with this club? No. I just enjoy watching someone play hard and create.
+1 for Russell. Apart from the effort, it's fun to listen to him speak in interviews and to try and figure out what the hell he's saying.
My concern - and I’ll acknowledge it’s hard to know for sure - is that if Pablo was of the persuasion to play Russell more it would have been at the expense of Gozo. Not just Wolff.
There were those handful of games where Piol was pulled and Gozo went forward and/or central while somebody else played wide right. I think that isn’t the best utilization for Gozo though…
There's probably some truth to that but I don't think that Gozo would be the one getting subbed the he was playing all season. Diogo is the one that I would have subbed him out for and I would take Russell over whatever it is you would get from Wolff this season. I'm not asking for Johnny to start at all or get any kind of starter minutes but there had to be more minutes for him during the season. It's a shame we even have to have this conversation but when this is the roster that's what we get.
Evidence suggests Diogo would be ahead of Gozo unless Diogo was “hurt”. Which maybe he’d have been hurt a lot more suddenly, but I have doubts. Pablo gives young players chances… when he doesn’t have another option. The evidence backs that
I agree. Diogo shouldn't get the nod just for the money he gets paid but he does. You are 100% correct when it comes to Pablo and young players. If not for Marczuk getting a knock Gozo might still be on the bench.
Speaking of Marczuk: he started two games (143 minutes) for Cincinnati and has three sub appearances (27 minutes) since the trade.
Way to butcher a great joke in the latest episode, goobx1. I really appreciate that you guys are about the only group putting out consistent RSL content.
I butchered one of my favorite dad jokes. It's right up there with driving by a cemetery and asking how many people do you think are dead in there? Answer: All of them.
