Looks like my last game day thread did not do the trick. This one is sure to make all the difference. Just you wait. I expect little change but somehow things are going to get better.
Curious to see how this one plays out. As always. But this seems like it could be make or break or a gauge on whether or not this team has any real will to not come completely apart. Moose is back. That can't be good or bad, who the hell knows. He's at least going to be available. I have enjoyed just waiting it out to see how things go and not getting all tied up in knots trying to figure this team out. I'm also getting old so there is that. If Vancouver is smart they will just jump all over this team. A quick goal and some disarray and the RSL team could fold up like a cheap camping chair and be twice as frustrating. It's also a game that might be the only ones RSL is really capable of playing under Pablo M. One with their backs against the wall. Desperation is easy, in game adjustments and tactics not so much. I think that Vancouver has a really good chance of getting a result which is all they really need. https://x.com/DavidDJJames/status/1705227416787095825?s=20
Every game is a must win game from here on out. We're sitting 3 points above the playoff line. A loss and wins by Portland, Dallas, and Minnesota, this weekend could see RSL fall out of the playoff order. RSL needs to right the ship this weekend and at least get a tie. My other concern, other than the playoffs, is how long does Chicho stay happy? We've got locker room drama with Moose and Savarino, but how long does Chicho stay happy with the lack of quality production around him? Sure, he's gotten 5 goals since coming to RSL, but he's also not getting consistent quality service. He's been pretty demonstrative late in games when he's on the end of a poor pass.
The thoughts on Chicho are spot on. If things continue to trend this way I wonder how long before Chicho suggests that RSL find a new HC? One that knows how to play more than a 4-4-2 and can make adjustments in game. Does RSL have to completely bomb out of the playoffs or is Pablo M just the guy? I'm guessing the hot seat is not even that warm but the $6 million dollar man, if he's not happy, could really crank up the heat on what happens moving forward.
Color me good and confused here with Musovski starting. And Japser instead of Ojeda. No Silva on the bench. No Savarino either. MacMath Eneli Glad Vera Oviedo Gomez Palacio Jasper Luna Chicho Moose Bench: Beavers; Lambert, Hidalgo, Brody; Ojeda, Chang; Damir, Julio, Rubin
So Musovski is starting and no Savarino tonight? Who had that on their bingo card tonight? I like the wings, but not sure about the midfield. Oviedo and Glad are the weekly ironmen.
Gregggg is here Yes That greggg I have no idea why He was in line like a normal dude on the west side but then went up to the boxes
Announcers mentioning that Savarino isn't at the game at all. And wondering if he's the one not putting out the effort we expect.
Two short corners in a row played to Vera about 25 yards out. One turnover, one blocked shot, and futility.
Maybe he's watching Brian White, the best performing US striker who has no caps. Now that's an effective corner. Ryan Gauld is quietly one of the best players in the league.
